A few points to ponder today, and good morni' to y'all:
Can we develop our list of those Dems whom we consider would actually participate in the filibuster. Many haven't even appeared on the Senate floor, so I think the Dems "troops" will be about a dozen....it'll be a definite strain on them...
FYI..last night I was watching the late session, so for peace and quiet in the house, I put the earphones on...it was very interesting....there are mikes all over the senate chamber, and during the breaks when no one is speaking, with earphones you pick up a lot of live chat...as many don't turn off their mikes...go ahead..try it..it's a whole different persepective on the debate....
Toomey is gonna challenge Specter in the primary...Just remember that Hatch is term-limited as Judiciary chairman after 2004, and next in line is, god help us...Arlen.....it'd be a disater....
OK..now really off topic..but I would like to get a group of Freepers together to form a commitee to encourage Ann Coulter to run against Hillary in 2006..I'd be fun..we'd get lots of publicity, pics, and maybe a few meetings with Ann ( be still my heart)..actually we'd probably need just a catchy name and a website to start....anyone interested...let me know....

Since the Democrats seem to have talking points for the day, may I suggest the following ...
If you are unfortunate enough to have a Democrat Senator, when you make your friendly daily call to them just ask what's the maximum salary a Hispanic can make and still be considered for a position in the Federal Court system. Mention that Senators Reid, Schumer and others yesterday talked about Estrada making too much money but not talking about how much was too much.

Good morning, Howlin,
Glad you're on the job. I was up at 5 AM and read the 2000 + post thread. I had to give it up last nite at midnight. Some stalwarts stayed through the nite.
It's very annoying that Fr is so slow today, when this thread was such fun yesterday. Oh, well.

From this point forward, I am pledging $5 to the RNC for every hour that Estrada is held up by these obstructionists....

Am here -- Synopsis of what happened with Sen Frist before turning the Senate over to Executive Session to debate the nomination:
The morning started with Senator Frist saying that this nomination of Miguel Estrada was submitted to the Senate in May 2001. More than 51 Senators in the Senate sent a letter to President Bush on 25 Feb 2003 stating their stand on voting for Miguel Estrada to the bench.
Senator Frist stated this started out as Justice Delayed on Estrada around the Country and has now turned into Justice Denied!
Sen Frist said the has sought out the Minority Leader (daschle) numerous times about scheduling a vote but he objected. RATs no the outcome of the vote and thus why they are denying a vote!
Please call Senator Corzine's office to protest the obstruction as he is up now:
(202) 224-4744
Tell Corzine you want a vote today and stop obstructing the business of the United States Senate. Confirmation requires a simple majority not a super majority! Also inform Corzine that for every day they continue to hold Estrada's nomination hostage, you are donating to the RNC or NRSC.
Thanks!
