Past retreats from such declarative statements have been spun away as less than "lies" -- that's such a crudely harsh, almost honest word for a politician to use. Like you, I am very encouraged by their brazen talk. But I've been around too long to bite this early, so I'll know they really mean it when Dr. Frist forces Senate Dems to filibuster around the clock.
