In a sense you are right but unlike the rest of China, Hong Kong has the opportunity to play a whole new game on the world stage with all eyes upon it. The people of Hong Kong have more to lose than those on the mainland because the mainlanders have never had freedom.

The butchers in Beijing have to be very careful about how they handle things in Hong Kong, they cant just send the tanks in to roll over people like they could in Beijing. Its a whole different ballgame>
