Unitarian Universalists = Godless Commies. At least the Seattle bunch are. Several years ago, I quietly attended a couple of their meetings, and was horrified by their beliefs and activities.

Believe it or not, I used to be a member of the UU church (ex wife is UU). As a deist, I considered myself fairly open-minded, so I did my part to give the church a chance. I even constructed and maintained their web site for free. (When the ex and I parted ways, I let the duties of webmaster fall to another member of the church.)

In the end, I burned out on the UU doctrine pretty rapidly when it became obvious that I didn't possess enough requisite guilt and self-loathing for my "sin" of being a successful, heterosexual, white male.

A couple of months following 9/11, I visited the web site I used to maintain and was wholly disgusted with the anti-U.S. tripe that was posted on that site. To this day, I regret having ever been associated with that...organization.

"Ping" - by posting a "ping", you can alert someone else to a thread that you think would be of interest to them.

"Bump" - is used to add more replies to a thread and keep it active longer - it is also used to bookmark a post so you can find it easier later.

Ha! Great story. Freeping doesn't have to be all digital. You didn't do anything unethical or illegal. It's good for liberals to feel the heat every once in a while- to be inconvenienced and forced to reconcile the contradictions between their words and deeds; for example: holding a public meeting, then barring those that disagree.

The United States has a long history of protests against government policy. In fact, protest is the basis for the founding of our nation and the impetus of the Revolutionary War. Now, not all protest movements in our nation's history have been sound nor ones that I did or would have supported but I understand that it is a right given to all people of this nation in the First Amendment.

Therefore those that advocated abolition of slavery, those that marched for civil rights, those who protest against Roe vs. Wade, those who protested the War in Vietnam, those who protested the Government’s actions at Waco and those that protest against affirmative action programs should all be stripped of their right to private property because they simply voiced their opinion against the Federal Government.

Now I like most people in this nation support the removal of Saddam by whatever means necessary. However, if the Government bans dissent by restricting rights then our government is no different than that of Iraq, North Korea or China.

If in fact what the people in the meeting you attended was treasonous, I would recommend that you call the police and if the police officer, district attorney, grand jury and a dozen fellow citizens agree with you then the these people would be convicted of Treason and thrown in prison.

If your tip were to lead to the arrest and conviction of people committing treason I would be in the first in line to congratulate you and pin a medal on your shirt.

However, if the protesters are not arrested it would mean one of two things; either they were not committing treason or the entire government from police officer on the street to Governor of the State of New York are giving aid and comfort to the enemy and are in fact committing treason themselves.
