17 members of the Cayuga Coalition for "Peace" met this evening at 7:00pm. What they weren't expecting was a FReeper to show up.
I walked in at 7:03 and seventeen people were seated around a table with a what looked like Natasha KGB typing at a laptop. A woman i'll call "commy#1" was stating "Saturday March 8th at the Islamic Society". The man,(commy#2), sitting next to her cut her off and the place went silent as I found a comfy old Victorian near the back of the room.
They were all looking at me as I sat down and took out my pad and pen. Another man,(commy#3), seated closest to me gets up and says "What are you doing here?" I calmly tell him I'm just there to take notes. He says "well no-one invited you." I took out the webpage I had copied from their site and said "That's funny I've got a public meeting notice here that says everyone welcome. Are you saying everyone but me is welcome?"
By now two more chickendoves had moved to either side of my chair. One I knew to be the "minister" from a previous run in.

The minister said "I'm going to ask you to leave>". I said nothing. He said "its obvious you dont want to part of the group what are you doing here?" I stood and said "as an American I want no part of your group and I think I will stay just to take some notes." I sat.
Commy #3 said "if you dont leave we are calling the police." No response from me. Commy #1 pulled out a cell phone and brought it over to #2. He dialed and started talking to the police. Meanwhile the others slinked back over to their chairs.
Immediately they all started arguing. What are we going to do type stuff. One of the more sophisticated looking ones made the remark "maybe we should let him stay. He does have a right to be here." Commy #1 then said "if he stays I go." More arguing, louder now. (I'm actually enjoying the Keystone Cop routine without saying anything.) Here are some of their remarks I wrote down while waiting for the police to arrive: 1)He is going to tell the Vets what we are doing. He's been at our last three functions and now you going to let him spy on us. I dont want those VETS around me! ( Any vets out there interested in meeting her? hehehe)
2)We cant proceed with our work.
3)We want to make sure we can give out our propaganda.
4)There have been problems physically in other places, certain things you say can turn against us because they dont understand.
5)People are being put in jail for stuff like this guy (me) has.
6)We would be handing over power.
7)We need to have these meetings at someones house.
8)If we meet in peoples houses then we wont be able to spread our word.
Thats all I could scribble down before the police arrived. Lo and behold but one of them is my 1st cousin. He comes over to me and says "hey whats going on, you Okay?". I say "Yeah, i'm fine now". He asks "what this about you refusing to leave?". I said "I'm not saying a word here but I'll tell you all about it later without any lawyer. But you are going to have to take me out of here". He said "you are acting strange, you sure you're alright?". I was tapping my pen on the Islamic meeting date and time i had written down went I said "you know me we are blood, trust me I aint BSing you. He just nodded his head and went outside with #2.
#3 and another commy man stood around me again. Soon #2 came back in and they all sat down. Police were gone. The debate about what to do with me there continued for appprox 15 minutes, finally minister approached me. "What do you hope to prove, are you just trying to get some media attention?" he asked rather vigorously. He then purposely fell into me and grabbed hold of my legal pad. I yanked it out of his hands and starting feigning assault. Meanwhile the other two chickendoves lept to restrain Mr. Peace Minister. #1 yelled "thats it,someone call the police back". I sat there and said "yes please do, did everyone see that?". #3 got the biggest frown on his face and said "why are you here?" I replied "because two towers fell and killed 3000 of my countrymen and I'm not letting that happen again!" He sneered "That's an idiotic statement! You swallow every lie thats given to you by the government." I slowly shook my head in disbelief and kept writing while he vented. The rest of the "peace" group started getting up and folding chairs and tables. They continued whispering and grumbling to each other. Some began leaving. One commy woman (#5) stopped in front of me on her way out and bent down to say "try to cooperate so that no one gets hurt Mr._____. No one wants that now do they?" I am still silently writing as she eventually leaves. Now there is just me and four male chickendoves. I focus on a spot on the wall where i can keep them all in my sight. Soon the police arrive again. One tells me unless I leave the "minister" is going to file trespass charges. I tell him I want to press assault charges, then follow him out side. I thank those two officers for everything they do, everyday, I explain. Another officer is over talking with the remaining chickendoves while MY two "comrades" and I converse. While we are talking I noticed the streetlighted area up a ways and guess what this "church" was next to? An abortion mill. I silently prayed and held back the welling. Again. Amen.
I still don't understand their purpose-but then-they didn't want you to either. But that first statement of theirs, you recorded, ....Islamic society was interesting. I listened to a recently CSPAN televisted symposium on the Islamic faith sponsored by the Christain Coalition and I am still shocked by what I learned.
After that many of the newcomer joiners decided they didn't believe in God at all, and many members now believe all sorts of humanist centered things.
