Jean, I'm glad you did post it. I actually read it all, pretty much, and I came away with a vision. It's of this guy sitting at a bar. He comes there everyday in the morning and doesn't leave until closing time. And he talks to anyone who will listen to him. He's a regular and there's no one there who can remember when he wasn't there, talking. Sitting and talking.

It's pretty obvious he's scared to death about his book. There are so many outrageous quotes, far too many to list. However, as I read it, I did copy to the clipboard this one:

"It's a funny thing when you're not in office anymore. You don't do the security briefings. You have to understand. It requires a little humility. In some ways your vision is clearer, because you see the big things clearer. But in other ways your vision is cloudier, because you may miss the exigencies of the moment. So whenever I offer a judgment I try to show some humility, because I know that some things I see more clearly than I did when I was in, but some things I'm quite sure I don't see as clearly."

It's hard to believe after reading this article, that this man was the President of the United States. The people of this country elected this blowhard not once, but twice. And there are many many people in this country still today that think he's brilliant.

You know, I've got a feeling we'll never see "the book." Did you read the part about how he writes? I mean, come on. And the parts where he compares himself to Thomas Jefferson and Teddy Roosevelt, .... makes me wretch.

No, Jean, your sister was right. This piece needs to be archived here on FR for eternity because it will probably fade into the ether otherwise.
