That's a question anti-war activists ask as an argument against the use of force in Iraq. On "Meet the Press" Sunday, activist Mike Farrell revealed that "the real villain" in the war on terror is "Osama bin Laden, who some now call Osama bin Forgotten."

Hard to believe that the editors at the SFC would print her article.

Ms. Saunders has her head screwed on right!

Exerpt from my Letter to the Editor in the Hampton Roads Daily Press this morning:

For those who think we should stay in the United Nations and that the United Nations is our best hope for world peace:
Iraq has ignored 16 U.N. resolutions, thereby rendering the United Nations impotent as a peacemaking and peacekeeping force in the world.
Under terms agreed to by Iraq, it is up to Iraq to prove it has destroyed its banned weapons. It is not up to the United Nations to prove Iraq has not.
Iraq has violated the U.N. no-fly zones on a regular basis and has fired on or attempted to fire on coalition aircraft enforcing those no-fly zones.
Iraq has not released or accounted for all Americans taken as POWs, such as Navy Lt. Cmdr. Michael Scott Speicher.
There is also the status of Iraq and the upcoming resumption of war. Iraq is not a sovereign nation but a conquered nation existing under the constraints of the terms of the cease-fire.
The Gulf War was not ended, but put on hold. There has not been a peace treaty but a cease-fire.

The weakness excuse is always the one at the bottom of the barrel. Why did we help the KLA take over in Kosovo? So we wouldn't appear weak. Now we will help the Kurds start their civil war so we won't appear to be weak. Stupid maybe, but not weak.

Yes, she is one of their columnists. I guess they do practice a little "diversity". She is definitely one of the "good guys", her column is syndicated by one of the large conservative syndicators.

She is described as: "A one-time registered Democrat turned Republican, she claims no loyalty to either party and takes pride in her unpredictability and irreverence for big-party politics."

It should also be noted that Kim Jong Il doesn't really want a war, nor does he really pose a threat to the US. He wants to be paid. Kim is a simple extortionist. If Dubya calls his bluff, attacking us won't get him his payday; it will just get him killed. Hussein, on the other hand, has already shown aggression towards his neighbors and a desire to use proxies to attack the US. He wants power, not a pay-off.
