Ugh...scary stuff. I heard of a resistant S. aureus strain popping up in Japan a few years ago--if it's here, it's really bad news. The folks on this thread who are claiming this is a gay problem are dangerously uninformed.

VRSA also know as VRE (Vanco Resistant Staph Aureus) has been around a long time in acutely ill hospital and nusing home patients. It is quite common on respirator dependent patients. The cause is due to hospitals not properly disinfecting patient rooms where a patient had the disease, died or was discharged, and another patient was admitted to the same room, and developed the infection. It is also quite common in the OR, especially with patients having orthopaedic surgery, and many patients have had to have limbs amputated to avoid the spread of the disease.

Silver has long been known for its special properties. The people of ancient Greece and Rome used silver containers for keeping liquids fresh. Through the centuries, Royal households carried on this practice by storing their provisions in silver containers. Privileged family members used silver eating utensils; they had their meals served on silver plates and their drinks served in silver cups. Indeed, the skin of 'blue blood' reportedly had a bluish tinge due to the minute traces of pure metallic silver they regularly consumed. Although considered to be "high tech" at that time, the particle size of the silver solution never reached its optimum ultramicroscopic size and its highest level of efficacy.
Back then, highly effective Colloidal silver was very expensive to produce. The pharmaceutical industry wanted faster-working drugs that were cheaper and patienable. In addition, when manufactured improperly, or taken at hundreds of time the proper dosage with extraneous silver compounds included, a permanent skin discoloration called Argyria, could result. For these reasons, Colloidal Silver fell out of favor. Even so, such prestigious journals as the results of scientific studies examined the many successful uses of Colloidal Silver.
Today most airlines use Silver Water filters on their aircraft and NASA uses Silver to purify the Astronauts Water Supply. (Did you know that!!)
In 1910, Dr. Henry Crooks a pioneer in colloidal chemistry wrote that; ".....Certain metals, when in a colloidal state, have a highly germicidal action but are quite harmless to human beings...it may be applied in a much more concentrated form and with better results...Bronchial Tuberculosis...Staphylococcus Pyogenes...various Streptococci and other Pathogenic Organisms are killed in three to four minutes -yes minutes!!
In 1919, Alfred Searle, founder of the pharmaceutical conglomerate Searle Pharmaceutical, wrote in his book "The use of Colloids in Health,"......applying Colloidal Silver to human subjects has been done in most cases with astonishingly successful results. For internal administration, orally of hypodermically it has the advantage of being rapidly fatal to parasites without toxic action on its hot. It is quite stable.
Colloidal Silver Re-appraised

Mush later, in the 1970's Colloidal Silver again became a valued substance. Doctors at Washington University in St. Lois, Missouri, stumbled upon it while researching for effective treatment for burn victims, having tried many other medicines. Biomedical research has shown that no known disease-causing organism, bacteria, virus or fungus can live more that a few minutes in the presence of even minute traces of metallic silver.

These diseases have been with us in the hospital settings for years but were exceedingly rare outside of a hospital setting. Now they are flaring up badly in non hospital stting in a certain community. It may offend your sensibilities to say what community that is but everyone here knows it. The male homosexual community. There I said it. The practices in this community will spread it to every major city and eventually to the heterosexual community.

It may offend you but it is true. The outbreaks are taking place in homosexual communities NOW. It will affect all of us sooner or later.

This is basically a disease problem with those who have compromised immune systems and live a dangerous, active homosexual lifestyle and who don't care about infecting the rest of society who may be otherwise healthy.
