MEL Gibson is furious at the New York Times over a story that will depict him as a pope-hating, conspiracy-minded cultist.
Gibson went on Bill O'Reilly's show in January claiming reporter Christopher Noxon was doing a "hit piece" on him and "digging into [his] private life . . . getting into [his] banking affairs . . . harassing [his] family, including my 85-year-old father."

This guy sound like a real troublemaker. Page Six couldn't have thrown Sandy Kouffax into the mix here?

No then who did it ?
What an idiot !
To: nickcarraway
It was the Daily Snooze ( News, for those who don't know about the NYC terminology ) that printed Sandy's name, NOT the Post. The Post's page six, was a " blind item ". Now, Sandy and by extention, you , are blaming page six.

I heard Mel was also spewing that long-discredited theory about the attack on Pearl being the work of the Japanese.
Have I missed something in the record of Jesus' murder all these years? To whom devolves responsibility, according to 'modern' historians?

Gary Giuffré [...] says in the story that the film "will graphically portray the intense suffering of Christ, perhaps as no film has done before."Can a film really do this? I don't see the point of making a film pretending to be able to give off a realistic reflection of the Biblical story (even if everyone is speaking Aramaic!) It's not possible.

Gibson himself acknowledged the apparent futility of portraying the murder as it really was; but felt his rendering would be a lot more honest than the sanitized versions that are celluloid currency.
As to why, Gibson seems to be spiritually compelled to produce the thing. Perhaps it is a devine mission; perhaps he's just pissed about the misinformation passed-off as 'history'. [ibid.]
I saw the interview Mel did with O'Reilly. Mel got really angry about Noxon's trespasses; but O'Reilly called him on his pique, and intimated that his was not a very Christian attitude. In a wonderful moment of introspection, Mel admitted the truth of that....without admitting it. O'Reilly snagged him good! He's human.

Well, if you look at my post, I don't actually say Page Six said anything about Mr. Kouffax, I merely wonder why they didn't throw him into the mix.(In fairness to Mr. Kouffax the blind item was obviously pretty transparent)
To: dasboot
Getting angry is a normal human emotion, and neither Christian nor unChristian, in my view. It is what we do about our anger that reveals whether we are Christian or not.

You are absolutely correct, wise one.
Gibson was angry; and , as a result of his anger, he obliquely threatened Noxon with retaliation...sort of a "he don't know who he's messin' with; he better watch it" sort of statement.
That's when O'Reilly snagged him. Mel was goin' down a bad road.
Hope that clarifies things.

Interesting. I guess he is an actor after all. But sorry, Mel, I'm still not going to see it.

Page Six has apologized, to Mr. Koufax. They're done with it and if you are a daily reader of this page, as I am, then you should know, full well, that they don't repeat themsleves nor carry things from day to day to day without some new news tidbit. :-)

This is all crapola. I like Mel Gibson. And I would like to see the Church return to the solemnity and formalism of the old Latin Mass. A lot of Catholics would.

The Romans, Hellenisitic colonizers, their puppet Nabataian "king", and their hand-picked collaborationist Sanhedrin killed dozens of purported Messiahs and rebel leaders. That is a fact.
