You misunderstood me. I am not at all impatient for an attack. I don't want it to start one second sooner than the troops are ready to go. What I am impatient about is the horrible way the process leading up to the war is being handled. I.E. repetitively saying "time is running out" and Powell getting the US caught in a predictable UN quagmire.

You freepers are living in fairyland if you don't see how badly the process is damaging the US, Bush and the republican party.

What makes you think we arent' doing anything in Iraq right now?

IMHO, the war is half over. I believe we've been all over the country undermining Saddam's support with his military and setting up resistance groups. All this UN crap is window dressing.

IMHO

What UN "quagmire"?

When/IF we want to go in, then we'll do so.

Come on, don't be dumb. Think. Hmmm... Did Bush go to the UN *before* smashing the Taliban in Afghanistan?

No. He did not. That's a big clue to Iraq and other foreign policy issues.

So let me S P E L L this out to you: Bush went to the UN regarding Iraq to set the UN up.

And in the process of weeding out who all are our real friends and bitter enemies at the UN, Bush also told Americans *precisely* what we needed to hear (i.e. that we would act in our nation's own best interests *regardless* of the UN votes).

If you will pay keen attention to what GWB actually says (rather than what the press *claims* GWB says), then you'll know precisely how GWB will behave in the future.

When he says that you'll get a tax cut, then that's what you'll get. When he says that we'll hunt down the 9/11 terrorists one by one, then that's what you'll get, etc.

So there is no UN "quagmire". You've *already* been told that U.S. will behave in our own best interests *regardless* of what the UN votes on, so there isn't much cause to be alarmed by various UN posturing, now is there?!

The UN is its own game. That Bush brought the UN into the Iraq issue should always be juxtaposed with Bush *not* bringing in the UN regarding our Afghanistan invasion (i.e. something different is in play here).
