He is no cowboy.

Just another inane slogan from the lefties
Like "It's all about sex"

Something for their mindless lemmings to mouth

"It's all about oil" didn't work so they needed a new mantra for the boobs to mouth

During Vietnam it was "Give peace a chance "

Something for their mindless lemmings to mouth . . .

Kind of like Bill Clinton's unit, right?

(sorry, I couldn't resist that one -- LOL)

And thank you so much for doing that. This has been a great one. I learned, enjoyed and am psyched by the press conference itself. Like others have said here, I am SO THANKFUL that we have this President at this time. He mentioned the thousands who pray for him and his family. An underestimation of the numbers, huh? And he said he feels lifted by the prayers.

Thanks for starting the thread.

Well I finally got to watch it (still missed the first of it)..I thought GW comes off as sincere and direct....an honesty that is almost heartbreaking. I felt a certain sadness as I think the President knows that he has to do this and yet he knows how hard it might be.

I've got a pretty good idea that the current U.S. action in Iraq was in the works long before 9/11.

And, completely missing the point, it is possible that a government will choose to act in a way that is literally detrimental to the well being of its citizens. Carter and Clinton may have led efforts that could have this effect (Panama Canal Treaty; military know-how to China). Obviously, in this case the government has to cover up its shenanigans. To do so requires at least an uniformed, and preferably an uneducated and manipulable populace, in combination with a willing media accomplice.

Been there, done that. Have a tee shirt too!

I believe Bush's actions on the international arena are in our interest. I am not so happy with the domestic, especially keeping FedGov in education -- but then again, he may be setting the stage to knock the legs out from under the NEA. I gotta give him credit for setting the stage to make the UN irrelevant in the minds of the public, and that could be a powerful force.

I think you are right, the underlying reasons for our position, or how we got here are more complex. But I like our side, and I like our goals at this moment in history. The region has been used in the power plays of many countries, for many, many years.

If anything one must really question France, Germany and Russia agendas.

I just happened to notice that it was very quite in the room until the President started descibing how when he put his hand on the bible he swore to uphold the constitution.

I read that earlier, but missed the part where he said that. I didn't see the scene you were describing, so I assumed that he just raised his hand and the photographers went wild.

There's a new video franchise: Presidents Gone Wild!

O'Reilly wants to know why the world (or why so many people) don't support the Iraq effort, or "why they hate us" and "why didn't Bush answer that one."

LOL. I liked the response by Don Imus' brother after 9/11. He said he wanted to go over there with his chainsaw, massacre a bunch of them, and have the others asking, "Why do the Americans hate us so much?"

Definite problems but not as bad as that boob Nixon and his sidekick Kissinger bringing China out of the stone age and making them the modern threat they are now

How can you not see the evil in this man. Are you aware how he killed King Faisal? When Saddam was a young Lieutenant he had one of King Faisal's legs tied to one vehicle and the other leg tied to the other as they drove in different directions. My own father say Saddam driving a motor boat dragging a rope attached to the head of King Faisal's son. He deserves the most painful of deaths. No wonder he never sleeps in the same place more than one night at a time. Good reason.

And that we have a President who knows he can't "game" the outcome in advance to look good, but goes ahead anyway.

Blix does not seem too bright. He is too enthralled with all this attention to be legit.

He reminds me of Judge Ito.

And when one reflects on the founders of this country, their earnest belief that government get legitimacy from the governed (putting the citizen above the government); their desire that each individual be able (and be encouraged) to reach his potential -- not via talk, but via action and the stress of the frontier; and their deference to each other and to God, well, reflect on that. And be an individual. And don't bitch about stresfull situations, deal with them, in a righteous way. And expect and demand performance from your government, and defer your actions when they are detrimental to your peers or your neighbors, without having to be told by the law to stifle.

Anyway, getting preachy to the choir here. We live in a complex world, and are blessed beyond what we deserve.
