Why do we post live threads an hour before the event? The thread gets WAY too big by the time we start.

Out.

Dunno if high schools have changed much in the few years since I've been out but we were lucky if we got past WWII in world history class.

I find that a relief in some ways because that means they're filling his head with nonsense

oops...should mean they're NOT filling his head with nonsense.

I'm almost beaten to death with all the news!

I hear you. I'm ready for the weekend. Too much going on in the news to get work done.

Hey! On the ball as usual, I see.

I'm almost beaten to death with all the news!

Me, too! It's wearing me out to the point I've been avoiding much of it. But I'll be watching the speech tonight!

I don't think it's going to get much better any time soon, friend.

We should have gone into some kind of training!

This thread should be worth about 5,000 posts, eh?

My prediction (well, my hope): W will say that Saddam Hussein has one more chance - he needs to leave Baghdad and Iraq with his family and advisors within three days. Don't destroy anything - just go. Or else we will do it for him.

I've been avoiding the local (VA Beach) news. They drive me nuts. I stick with FR and FoxNews.

I was lucky...had an ex-Marine as my world and US history teacher.

Best teacher I ever had...

Hi, Howlin! Thank you for starting this thread. I knew we could count on you! Ok, let's get this out of the way: bin Laden has not been captured and the President is not going to announce the start of war. Ok, let's go.

Predicitions of what we'll see tonight...

(1) OBL is dead
(2) OBL was captured dead
(3) Liberation of Iraq will begin
(4) OBL's son captured
(5) We Begin Bombing the Soviet union in 5 mins!

That is all. It's great to be on board!

Okay, so the Admins will set up a "thread 2" for the actual conference.

Any guesses on how obnoxious Helen Thomas will be?

Be Seeing You,

Chris

I wonder if Helen will get a question tonight.

If she's not a coward, she'll ask Bush why he wants to bomb the Iraqi people...like she asked Ari yesterday.
