You didn't listen to his answer.

What was his answer? all he said is that North Korea is a regional issue, to be handled multilaterally? But he didn't explain why that should be so with North Korea, but not with Iraq.

Our President is a dead serious man. America has learned this lesson and the world will learn it soon.

Any chance we could get the ages of all those who think he isn't rah rah enough or there was no reason for this presser?I'd be interested in how many of those have no adult memory of any prior president except for you-know-who.

He needs to drag it out because once the war starts the liberals will begin with the "war-mongering" rhetoric.

If the public gets the sense at this point that Bush has been patient in warning Iraq (which he is), the liberals' argument will have no impact.

Much better for the troops.

Why is this on? What is new here?

IMHO, he should have left it with the SOUA until he spoke from the oval office to announce the war has begun.

This performance and "speech" is not helping him. I expect to see a dip in the polls supporting war after this. (Hope I'm wrong)

Back to Iraq. Bush saying his job is to protect US people. Sadam is a threat, Sept 11 taught us that terrorists can wreak havoc in the US. Bush thinks the threat is real, and the demand is that Sadam disarm. If he doesn't, we will disarm him. As to sharing of intelligence dealing with Iraq and the threats -- we communicate alot, and will continue to do so, with the 90 or countries we are working with. Many countries fully realize the threat, and that the credibility of the Security Council is at stake. Jim Angle next.

I don't think we have all the chips in place (troop ships still enroute, etc.). Bush needs to buy a little more time, and a little more Jaw Jaw while the assets get in position is fine.

I'm surprised Saddam is allowing us (again!) to put our troops in position to crush him.

Let's all try to remember that the vast majority of people in this country don't know as much about this as we do. This speech isn't to us; it's to them.

Valid point.

To be honest, I would rather be watching that military reality show on ABC that is on tonight. We have heard all of this before.

True, to all of us this seems repetitious to the point of madness, but it's worth recalling that his primary audience is about 5% as well informed.

He's doing what he has to do.

He is staying on plan. He needed to be seen by other countries that he hasn't changed his mind since the peace protests and the France, Germany , Russia threesome.

Reinforcing the original plan will make the UN results more likely to go our way. THe UN needs to hear this.
