By definition, a prime-time press conference is an opportunity to go over the heads of the mainstream media.

John King, CNN: What about worst-case scenarios?

Becuase the MEDIA are SOOOOOOOOOOOO STUPID

Guess I am too, because I haven't heard an explanation as to why we have to invade Iraq, when we DON'T have to invade N Korea -- even though it's N Korea that's explicitly, loudly threatening to build a nuclear weapon and to launch it at S Korea or Japan -- or us.

Maybe the evangelicals on freerepublic would care about this if there were something in the book of Revelations about N Korea, but as it is, they're more interested in some kind of prophecy about the Middle East than in responding to real threats to US security.

Bush seems off tonight like I haven't seen him. Somber, yes, but also seems to have difficulty concentrating.

I hear steel and red hot coals in the President's voice. You don't?

Not really. I hear someone unable to speak his heart and mind. He should have waited until the diplomatic dance was over. This is not working, IMO.

Not me. He almost sounds bored..not serious..but tired of the whole thing. Not doing much to light a fire under the American people.

It's interesting that you should mention that because I usually can't stand listening to him speak.  I agree with him most of the time but, I don't believe he's an interesting orator (I enjoy listening to Bob Bennett or Dick Cheney...or Alan Keyes when he's relaxed....or Ward Connelly(sp))

But I'm listening to the President via Hugh Hewitt's show and he's sounding.....extremely resolved.  Calmingly so.....compassionate.

I like this.  The only thing that sucks are the idiot reporters and the way they're framing stupid questions.
