I once attended a weekend "meeting" in Birmingham AL when my company was considering buying a franchise. The "onwer"/pitchman showed up at the airport in a convertible Mercedes with no liscense plates...It only took a few moments to realize that he did not want us to see "Rental" on the plates, and that we were being deceived right from the outset.
