Mr. Waltrip is an admirable fellow.

And for everyone who will not attend any more movies starring those big mouths without brains (aka Hollywood stars, against the war), go buy some NAPA auto parts, because of Michael Waltrip!

He also wasn't bashful about praising God at Daytona.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution media critic Mike Tierney does. He wrote: ''[TV] interviewers should keep drivers focused on race matters. When Michael Waltrip turns the discourse toward the President and the pending war in Iraq, the questioner must take the wheel and guide him back Oh now, that's REALLY beautiful. I guess it's fine and dandy for celebrities to speak out AGAINST Bush and the war, but heaven forbid someone speak out FOR him. How positively infuriating.

This is one of the reasons I have been a longtime fan. To some, Cup racing is boring.
But more than any other pro sport, the drivers more closely resemble the average working guy than players in other pro sports. They don't publically squabble over money, they don't go on strike, most are just average guys that happen to race cars for a living.(And get paid a pile of money to do it.)

bump for waltrip, the media wants to hush support for Bush,to bad.

Look at post #10. Remember what I said about people not caring about truth and just saying anything they want about anybody. Confusion reigns.

I haven't been a big NASCAR fan in the past but I've got some time on my hands now that I refuse to see most Hollyweird movies. And I just discovered the driver I'm gonna support . . .

NASCAR drivers never forget what makes this country great when they succeed. Unlike your average self hating Hollwierd star.

NASCAR is hot dogs, apple pie, and the 4th of July. It is the one truly American sport that's left. And I would guess that almost 100% of the NASCAR participants and their fans agree with Michael Waltrip, and not only that, are conservative, right-wingers and proud of it. This is a sport whose participants and fans unapologetically wave the American flag (and the Confederate flag too, for that matter) and are unashamedly Christian. This is a sport whose fans greeted Presidents Reagan and Bush with loud cheers, and Clinton with resounding boo's. This is also a sport that is growing in popularity as others are fading. For those who love America and waving the flag and have never been to a NASCAR race, do yourself a favor and go, you will be glad you did. You'll feel like you're at a 4th of July parade and it'll make you proud.

OK, OK. I give. I won't complain when Hubby is glued to the television instead of doing any of a dozen little chores that need to be done around the house. Well...I'll try not to complain.
NASCAR, the antidote to Hollyweird.

Did this dipstick with the Atlanta-Journal have this same view about the Hollywood left spouting off every time a camera is on them?...I think NOT.
