I'm looking for the link to the site for getting a service member name to send a care package to. My work site would like to sponser a service member but I have lost the link to the site to get a name from.

I'm going to make some angry but.... I have been there and going back very soon, and the to any soldier mail grinds the mail system to a near halt. I would get thirty "to any soldier" letters a day while my rolls of Copenhagen, letters from my wife, Dad, etc. would languish at the APO forever.
I appreciate the thoughts of all, but I wish there were a better system. We broke down and used a courier to bypass the "system".

Also, check the thread for the Canteen for Easter gifts for the Military. Posted in there are the names and addresses of about 5 guys, who have given their addresses to be posted. They pass along the boxes of goodies. I especially send to Chaplain's, as they know the ones in need.
Also contact snippy-about-it or 68-69TonkinGulfYatchClub - they might have newer contacts or can point you in the right direction.
BTW, there are restrictions on stuff that can be sent, and "Tonk" as he's affectionately known, has a URL you can go to check out what restrictions there are, by zipcode.
Also, on the same Easter Gift or the past Valentine Gifts threads for the Military, there are lists of items to be sent. What I hear from my contacts in the AF are "send lip balm and baby wipes" - but I suppose that means for the guys at Camp Doha and other locations in Kuwait!
Good luck, and give us some feedback, okay?

Just had dinner with family friends who have a son who's in the Marines and is in Kuwait. He's been in Kuwait for 2 months now without a shower!
When and if you are able to send a care package, from what I understand, the guys need baby wipes to clean themselves up; underwear, as the ones they wear only last a few days; and socks, as they seem to rot away as well.
My family has been pitching in to buy supplies for this brave soldier and his wife who's stuck at 29 Palms and can't leave for fear of losing their housing.
You may want to check in with your local military base. Many of the wives are without half of their incomes and food allowances.
God Bless our brave soldiers.

The "Any Servicemember" program got nixed due to the Anthrax threats. Now, you have to mail to a specific servicemember who you know.

See the link above to the Easter Thread at the Canteen and this Thursday we will be posting an updated list. These troops are both freepers themselves and friends of freepers, we deliver and they receive! Come join in supporting our troops.
