saw a Congressman (Jim Saxton??) this weekend say that he was proposing a resolution that would bar American support for the Paris Air Show....I agree.

You are agreeing with an idjit

The Paris Air show is a TRADE show where manufacturers compete for customers.

If Boeing stays home then Airbus and Tupelov have the field to themselves.

I saw Congressman Paxton flesh out his remarks last night. He fully agrees that no one can keep American companies from attending this show. However, the government (taxpayers) does not have to subsidize them.

Most of these companies borrow, or lease back, equipment and planes from the US Government to demonstrate. They also "borrow" pilots and crew from the armed services for the event at great expense to the taxpayer and risk to the pilots' lives. The US Government does not have to participate.
