[history]
John Mellencamp questions President Bush's motives for a possible war against Iraq in a new song available at the Hoosier rock star's Web site.
"He wants to fight with many, and he says it's not for oil," Mellencamp sings during "To Washington," which can be downloaded for free at www.mellencamp.com.

Eight years of peace and prosperity Scandal in the White House
An election is what we need
From coast-to-coast to Washington
So America voted on a president
No one kept count
On how the election went
From Florida to Washington
"God----," said one side
And the other said the same
Both looked pretty guilty
But no one took the blame
From coast-to-coast to Washington
So a new man in the White House
With a familiar name
Said he had some fresh ideas
But it's worse now since he came
From Texas to Washington
And he wants to fight with many
And he says it's not for oil
He sent out the National Guard
To police the world
From Baghdad to Washington
What is the thought process
To take a human's life?
What would be the reason
To think that this is right?
From heaven to Washington
From Jesus Christ to Washington

He sent out the National Guard
To police the world
This infuriates me. Where were the outcries when Clinton did it?

Feedback has tallied 60 percent to 40 percent in favor of the song's content.
Freepers have not been doing their jobs!

I used to like Mellencamp's stuff until "Scarecrow". I went to see him live and he sucked. Nothing really good from him since the 80's. He's turned into a Springsteen wannabe.

"Where were the outcries when Clinton did it?"
According to Jeneanne Garafaho, it wasn't hip to protest Clinton.

Sounds like Mellencamp needs to get his ass kicked all the way back to Hoosierland.
To: Stew Padasso
HHHmmmm it's about oil? If that is so, then why do we continue to protect our ally and everyone's enemy in that region....Israel?
To: Stew Padasso
I thought Mellencamp was an intelligent individual. I had no idea he was as ignorant as this.

A mind career is a terrible thing to waste.

Well, since he lives in backwoods Indiana, Melonhead is likely to get his ass kicked with this pacifist drivel.

Mellencamp song sends message to WashingtonYep, it sends the message that John Cougar Melonhead is as clueless as the rest of the liberal elite.

*Sigh*
Another day, another name for my "STFU List".

I heard that interview. Wasn't that a hoot. And of course it wasn't hip to criticize the person they gave all of their money too. They were too far in bed with the criminal.
