The UN used to give me a headache,,now it has progressed. I just feel tired when I read about them. Sort of like a friend with a deadbeat husband,,you just want her to get rid of him. The UN is therefore like a bad husband.

Read Article 110 They are awaiting the United States to Ratify (like it is a done deal in the future)

Didn't Clinton ratify? Or try to?

The UN charter is not international law. Get a grip Mr Annan.

The U.N. is NOTHING but a conference room with interpreter microphones. We sure pay a huge rental fee for this service.

The U.N. is like the Sopranos. (I apologize to the mob for the comparison) They get kick backs to delay for twelve years while France, Germany,China and Russia make bucks dealing war goods to Iraq

I have a question for FReepers--what could the U.N. do to the U.S. if we go ahead with war without getting a green light from them? What kind of situation would it cause? Thoughts?

Note to Saddam:

Hey a$$hole, when some people in blue helmets show up, place them by the other "human shields."

Thanks in advance, BT.

Not "legal"? The law of this land has been satisfied. The elected representatives have duly exercised their judgment for the protection of the citizens, which is really the only reason for government which is legitimate.
What country does this Annan guy live in? Is he trying to be more deluded than Martin Sheen?

They will pass 18 resolutions over 12 years and eventually another US administration will step forward to pass a final resolution to enforce the resolutions against the US, at which point the French will be between a rock and a hard place...

...They will then have to decide whether to support the US resolution and allow the US to fight the US, or to vote against the US resolution and prevent the US from attacking the US.

Any questions?

What would the UN do? The same a British Bobby (unarmed) does when he encounters someone breaking the law: "Stop...or I'll say stop again"

What's the UN going to do to us if we attack Iraq without their total permission? The same thing they haven't done to Saddam! They are a spineless bunch of anti-Americans out to bully the United States. President Bush owes them nothing and any proof that Saddam has weapons of mass destruction will never be enough for them.

Let France, Germany and Russia turn their backs on us for Saddam....just don't call us when this a$$hole turns on you and don't think you are immune to Saddam's sadistic behaviour.....Don't take my word for it....ask a civilian Iraqi! GET OUT OF THE UN!!!!

The word "Illegal" is in the title of the World Net Daily article, but Annin doesn't use it in his -- whatever he was saying.

He says things like "flaut", "not in conformity", "impaired legitimacy", and words to that effect, but most of his statement is about the UN this and the UN that. .

Sounds to me that he is trying to make the UN seem relevant, and is trying to save its skin, if we go ahead without them.

Hey! That sounds like a good idea to me!!
