If they said that, then they are fools. If that was someone's car being vandalized, would they wait to do something until the owner filed a complaint? Their logic is BS. It's more than likely the police probably agreed with the perps and that is the reason they did nothing. If anything, these anti-war morons were littering, but of course they ignored that too. This had nothing to do with waiting for the property owner's complaint, and everything to do with the police looking the other way. If I'm not mistaken, they are required by law to act when they see the law being violated, and destroying decorations/memorial items on a person's private property is definitely vandalism and is a violation of the law.
