Santorum: "This procedure is NEVER medically necessary. OB's have not been able to come up with a case were abortion was medically necessary. SEPARATION--possibly involving a live birth--can be necessary--but SEPARATION is not the same as ABORTION!" Thanks bump.

Santorum now saying abortion is like slavery, because unborn children today and slaves back then were not considered "a person" under the constitution.

The "health of the mother" exception is so bogus, just about anything qualifies. I had gestational diabetes during my last pregnancy, and that was certainly a threat to my health. Does that mean I wanted to kill my baby? Of course not! I admit, there may be cases where women have more serious ailments during their pregnancies, but I would ask them to consider that there is no guarentee that pregnancy is going to be risk-free. Mothers are supposed to sacrifice themselves for their children, not their children for themselves.
