As a born Texan by the grace of god, it is come to my attention that the Dixie Chicks have issued a Bill Clinton like apology tonight refusing to address the lead singers commments of her being 'ashamed' th have Dubya as her President.
Perhaps a tea party avoiding Lipton products (the sponsor of their tour will get their attention.
If you will write a letter to the owners of Lipton Tea paul.wood@unilever.com and nancy.goldfarb@unilever.com

Pull!!!!
Remember the "Disco Record Burnings" in stadiums around the country in the 80s?? Let's gather up all the CD's from our favorite leftie and burn those using Lipton tea bags as kindling.

Here's mine:
I understand that one of your subsidiaries, Lipton, sponsors the Dixie Chicks. I want you to know how distressed my family and I were to hear the terrible comments made by them while playing a concert in the UK recently. They apparently think so little of our President that they will criticize him publicly, saying they are "ashamed" of him.
I want you to know that my family and I are NOT ashamed of our President. In fact, we are proud of him and stand foursquare behind him as he attempts to execute his solemn duty under the Constitution, to defend our land.
I am, rather, embarrassed and ashamed of the Dixie Chicks. I do not think there was any reason for them to make these statements publicly, no matter what their private opinions might be.
Although they have a right to them, my family and I also have the right to disassociate ourselves from them, from any of their products, and from the products of their sponsors.
Therefore, we will for the indeterminate future NOT be buying any products from Lipton, including beverages, soft drinks, or anything else that Lipton produces. We will also attempt to make sure we don't buy anything from Unilever.
This might be a small thing to you but to us it is quite serious. We are Texans as well as they, and mortified at their terribly disrespectful comments as our nation hovers on the brink of war.
Thank you for your attention to our complaint.
Sincerely,
[ADDRESS]

As someone pointed out on another thread, DON'T destroy those CD's! Sell them on EBAY, thus preventing the purchase of a new copy, and eliminating the royalties to these skanks. Also, be sure to write and let them know what you are doing, and exactly why you are doing it. They are free to hold and express their opinions, but they are not protected from how their audience reacts to their stupidity.

Oh...well that excuses her weight but Catherine Zeta Jones is pregnant too and she manages to look classy. Of course, she has alot more money than the Dixie Chicks.

Use THIS LINK
to send a message that your "Will not use nor purchase any Unliver Products until they stop all support of the Dixie Chicks."
BTW the "Dixie" Chicks should change their name to the "French Bitches." Or "Clinton's Gnew-kneepads."

I hope as a result of these recent celebrity statements that companies start putting in contract clauses allowing the company to recover damages if the star steps in it after the deal is struck.
Lipton might just be a victim of circumstances here, more so than MCI in their debacle since Glover was a known quantity before MCI inked the deal. Still, Lipton needs to jettison this baggage now or at least make amends by also promoting Darryl Worley.
Anyway, yes, a star has free speech rights. But when the act of exercising that right tanks a multi-million dollar advertising campaign, there ought to be consequences back to the star.

Well, that's true, but we DO use Lipton soup, and their soft drinks like lemonade, etc.
And they don't KNOW that we don't drink tea!

The one in the middle is the lead singer. I recently bought Alison Krausse and Union Station's new "Live". It is great
two CDs of great enjoyment. I think the DVD is out by now.
AKUS supports our troops and their talent puts the "Clucks" to shame. My neighbor let me borrow "Home" and I didn't listen to it for long. After tasting the good stuff, rot-gut don't go down too easy.

The Dixie Chick CD's in my wife's vehicle are going to be removed and fed to the office shreader.
To: ewing
Its really a shame that they had to disparage the President at a time of war on foreign soil. I'm sad to say no more Dixie Chicks CD's will be bought in this house. Is it just the lead singer or do the sisters say the same things?
