First, I do not know if the SAS proper killed Zoran Djindjic. It could be that SAS trained cadres now no longer in the UK's employment did it for reasons of their own.

On the other hand, it is funny how the Serb PM was killed just as he started to call for the re-assertion of Serbian authority in Kosovo?? In the end Zoran Djindjic made too many enemies--the last enemy he made was NATO (Or those that NATO trained)?

Kosovo's Serbs Form Union, Angering Albanians The Serb entity would...function as an integral part of Serbia," the declaration said, calling for the return of some Serbian army and police forces to help secure Serb-dominated areas and fight organized crime and "terrorism." Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic was quoted at the weekend as telling Britain's Times newspaper that Belgrade would sponsor a breakaway Serb mini-state if the West prevented its troops from returning to guarantee the minority's rights. But The U.N.'s Kosovo governor, German diplomat Michael Steiner's spokesman Simon Haselock said: "These ideas of partition and division only incite tension." Ramadan Avdiu, political adviser to Rexhepi, said: "This union is an attempt for the division of Kosovo and it is unacceptable."

UN's Steiner invites Belgrade for Kosovo talks The initiative came a week after Steiner rejected an appeal by Belgrade for talks on Kosovo's future status and on full implementation of a U.N. resolution envisaging the return of a limited number of Serb forces to the province.

and finally this action: Steiner orders Serbian administration to move out of municipality in southern Kosovo KOSOVO-UNMIK-SERBS-MUNICIPALITY Steiner orders Serbian administration to move out of municipality in southern Kosovo 14:15 STRPCE , March 12 (Tanjug) - UNMIK chief Michael Steiner ordered employees of the Serbian municipality in Strpce, a town in the south of the province, to move out of the municipal assembly building, so that in those premises can start working a new administraiton, in line with the results of the local elections in Kosovo abd Metohija held in October last year, Strpce mayor Sladjan Ilic confirmed to Tanjug on Wednesday. "Steiner's order arrived on Tuesday and already today 40 administative employees in the old legislature started to move out. They will continue to extend to Strpce citizens all kinds of services concerning the state of Serbia, but in other premises," Ilic said.

The roadside attempt on Zoran Djindjic's life followed by the sniper shooting made me remember the SAS plot details for Slobo's hit squad.
