Just when you thought things couldn't get any stranger in the People's Republic of Monroe County (that's Bloomington for the uninitiated), this just in.
He's baaaaack.
So says Cathy Crosson, a longtime Bloomington environmentalist who reports the latest spotting of the FBI plane that had been buzzing that fair city for 10 days or so, until Feb. 28.

The FBI plane story continues. I am curious myself about what they are monitoring, but I really doubt it is Ms. Crossman.
I actually think they are searching for something.

Has Grover Nordquist been visiting in the area? :)

Why do you doubt it's Ms. Crossman? Just curious --- I've never heard her name before until I read this article posted here.

This, is not tin foil time but I was a bit curious yesterday, as I went out to head to work. There was a white cessna, way too low circling around my neighborhood..( Mt. Pleasnt Church) sure you know the area......and by small plane just minutes from the bloomington incidents.
Of course, in our current environment, were all a bit more vigillant.

Well, I doubt that they would monitor someone's farm from the air when it could be done on the ground and attract less attention. In addition, the plane has been spotted over several portions of Bloomington, NOT just her farm. The pattern they have been flying indicates to me that they are searching areas.
The "monitoring" story was what the FBI said they were doing once they finally admitted it was their plane. I don't necessarily think that they are actually using it for that purpose.
Ms. Crossman has an inflated sense of her importance.

Any contrails spotted in the area?

Maybe they traded in the black helicopters for the white planes, trying to throw us all off so they can get back to cow mutiliation :)

In all reality Bloomington is far from being a "people's republic" but there do seem to be too many folks down there who view the FBI as the enemy.
The recent discovery that James Moran, the Arlington/Alexandria Congressman is a fascist anti-semite is probably instructive in this regard. Nazis are real - not just something in the imagination of Jerry Nadler - and as long as they "talk the talk" about socialist enterprise or environmentalism (an early Nazi initiative) their cousins on the left are apparantly quite happy to have them around.
Traveling around 17 miles West of Bloomington the "white power" and "survivalist" signs may be found all too readily. You can find them in the NE part of Monroe County right up to the Brown County line as well. The leftist crowd who live rustic out in the hills, yet work in Bloomington seem to be entirely too tolerant of this sort of thing. Around here, where you have to have a permit to carry a pistol, such signs would be full of bullet-holes.
Folks like that have a long term dispute with the FBI. We wish the FBI well!

There used to be a low-flying plane that went over my house every week...I am directly west of Mt. Pleasant by about 3 miles. That plane was flown by Panhandle Eastern to monitor their pipeline. Those flights were discontinued several years ago, however.
If what you saw was the same plane as Ms. Crossman's, I think it safe to assume that they are looking for something, not someone.
To: Miss Marple
Nah this wasn't a pipeline plane those guys rarely waste time circling....twenty years of military and corporate aviation make me a descent observer:)
This was a unusally low flight.....heck it could have been nothing more than some dude buzzing his own home or a aerial photographer taking pictures for a new development.........but it just struck me as odd.

We all notice things more. Yes, you are right. The pipeline planes used to fly low but in a straight line and fairly speedy. I am just thinking on the keyboard.
I saw the original flights one night when I was walking the dog and it was really clear. You could see the lights low on the horizon to the south...like maybe they were around Martinsville, and they went back and forth fairly slowly.
Since they are also flying at night, it indicates they are not using visual surveillance. Since they are still flying, it obviously isn't necessary that they be kept secret. And, since I have NO idea what they are looking for, I think I will keep the rest of my tin-foil speculation to myself.

I'm telling you there are helicopters following me!!!!

Any contrails spotted in the area? Please use the correct terminology. They're called chemtrails.
(Contrails just sounds too benign for the tin-foil crowd.)

I'd say, "That's funny," but then
you'd say, "Funny? How exactly am I funny? Funny
HOW?"

Haha.
This is the third story about these flights in the Indianapolis paper. The FBI has admitted it is their plane. The only puzzle is what they are looking for.
To: Miss Marple
Wasn't there a story a few weeks ago about some arab "student" being arrested for fleeing the scene after a traffic accident near the airport there?
IIRC, the "student" was acting strangely when caught -- offering to pay people off, bumping the arresting police officer's gun side, etc.
To: Bob
Yeah, I used to use the term "chemtrail", but every time I did, I heard footsteps and voices outside my door, so I stopped.

My guess: they're not watching the antiwar activist. Seems other ways would be easier, cheaper and less obvious. And why would the FBI set themselves up as sitting ducks for any reporter ready to carry the left's water?
Is the plane trying to spot something that can't be reached or seen from the road? Something buried, an underground structure, an object that emits radiation? Anyone?
