I'm a big fan of the President, but he will abide by Presidential protocol and not open any cobwebbed doors containing skeletons of previous admins.

Bubba not only realizes this, but rubs Bush's nose in it.

You're probably right but I'm holding out hope that Bush may open this can of worms for 3 reasons: 1. It is a small step in the right direction to show that the Clinton administration/Reno Justice dep't actively thwarted an investigation into a probable terrorist act. 2. To concede Sanders' points shows the Ashcroft Justice department is cleaning house and reforming (even if they really aren't) and 3. Bubba has not kept up his end of the bargain to keep his trap shut as former presidents used to do.

Funny, that's one reason I would expect GWB to leave it alone. The same goes for your #3. He seems to take great pains to ensure no one has any grounds for accusing him of a personal attack on Bubba & Co. I suspect Bubba knows it and takes great pleasure in it. It's a fundamental difference between most Ds and most Rs, and the worst of the Ds exploit it at every turn.

Your #2 might be a good reason but, I seriously doubt it's enough to persuade him to open it.

Even if GWB is very interested to know whether TWA 800 was an act of terrorism, that is a separate issue from whether We The People "need" or "deserve" to know the same at this juncture.
