Great point. Also, this brings to mind the story of how Miss Rice's father became a Republican. He went to register as a Democrat to vote in a southern state (Georgia, I believe). When asked to count how many beans were in a jar he left in a huff. A fellow black man told him the Republicans around the corner would register him fairly and off he went.

I first heard Condi tell this story to Dan Rather during the 2000 campaign and he nearly passed out when he heard it.

Let me get this straight. What is a black "race traitor"? It is a person who is intelligent? It is someone who is successful? It is someone who can speak well in standard English? Therefore a true black has to be a stupid failure who speaks garbage?

You are right, that this is an embarrassment of riches. It's just not worth much of an attack. In the words of under-achieving black children in schools across the nation, it's for danged sure that this writer is not "thinking white." What's strange is that I did a search on Ms. Rice after seeing a picture of her in the Oval Office with what appeared to be a fabulous set of legs (I know, I'm a man, what can I say?). I came across this exact same article and sent a pretty strong E-mail to the site.
