What concerns me is that an American can be so mind-bogglingly stupid as to try and physically interfere with an IDF operation. She went out of her way to try and manufacture her own 'Kent State'- and she's not the only one with this mentality.

She is just the latest child sacrifice to the Pali god Molloch - and I consider her a child due not to her age but to her demonstrated lack of maturity about very serious situations.

Who put her up to it? This is the real question that we ought to concern ourselves with. So far we look to have part of the answer - Evergreen State College. Who else has bloody hands from helping to send this stupid girl to her death? Not the IDF - they're defending the lives of their families and their people. I wonder, will the people who taught her to believe what she does have any liability, suffer any consequences for the useless destruction of an American life?

"They follow Gandhi's precepts: that if you simply refuse to engage in war, no matter what, then peace must rule the day and you can find "other ways" to solve your differences."

That can only work if everyone involved wants peace. ANd if there is something I know, it's that for some people violence and conflict are just part of their nature. FOr some, violence is the only thing they understand.

This is not a personal attack, but a deeply felt comment on the quality of recent posts: To all the people who've posted mockery, applause and laughter at this loss of life, what's that song, "True colors shining through"? You've easily given up all future credibility of commenting in a logical fashion on the events of the day, and of the social directions that countries and world leaders must take to solve a multitude of problems. A young woman died today doing what she saw as correct in the face of a policy she saw as unfair.

If the college you mention had anything to do with bringing her to the place she was at and promoted what she was doing that's just insane. The promotion of leftist garbage in all schools should be stopped. Something likely impossible to do. The left is so entrenched in schools as they are in the courts.

As far as Israel and the IDF? They should be allowed to use whatever force is necessary to make the "Palestinians" (Egyptians,Syrians, etc actually) understand that killing innocents comes with a high price.

I agree with "W" that Arafat must go. Anyone that instructs people to kill others must be eliminated. The Israelis should be allowed to live in peace. But they will never live in peace unless something dramatic happens. Things should not keep going on as they have been. It's just not right.

The Islamic leftist facists seem to only understand the sword. If that's the case then the sword must be used because the olive branch does not. At some point many people will die. All around. And there will be nothing amusing about it.

I'm not rejoicing or laughing over her death. I find it to be pointless, useless, and tragic. As for the folks who are joking about it... cut them some slack, humor is the way human beings deal with tragedy. And on so many levels, this is an utter tragedy. (What it is not, however, is just cause to fault the IDF.)

Why is that some people defy all human reasoning, by believing they can accomplish change in the world by being zipped into a body bag?

I'm wondering if we should make up a bunch of t-shirts and send them to Evergreen College - they would read, "I went to Gaza and all I got were these lousy tread marks..."

Maybe that would prevent a few more of these senseless, useless deaths...

Excellent post.

I wonder if the next terrorist-defender will be so quick to stand between Isreal and her right to defend herself.

American protester killed in Gaza
Sunday, March 16, 2003 Posted: 2:43 PM EST (1943 GMT)

Tom Dale said he was about 10 yards from Corrie when the incident occurred. Dale said Corrie, clearly visible in an orange jacket, placed herself between the bulldozer and houses targeted by the Israelis.

Seems to me like she made a choice!

Some mother and father ought to feel guilty for not educating their daughter properly, and allowing her to go over there in the first place

Yup...blame the parents for not bringing up their kid "right".

I'm glad to see that you were a perfect parent and that your children are such perfect little angels who never did anything you disagreed with. Most parents aren't so lucky.

Amazing. To die protecting terrorists. And thats the kicker, IDF demolishes homes of terrorists. She was protecting terrorists.

Yes. These are people determined to wipe out Israel. These are people who cheer when Jewish children are blown to bits. These are the people who danced in the streets on September 11. I don't give a plugged nickel for the life of anyone who stands with them.

What blows my mind is the arrogance. "I am so valuable, the world will stop if I simply step forward and put my precious self in front of an oncoming force."

Gee, how will they manage to elevate her to the level of "martyr"?

"This is a regrettable accident," said IDF spokesman Captain Jacob Dallal. "We are dealing with a group of protesters who were acting very irresponsibly, putting everyone in danger."

Welcome to the new and bloodthirsty Free Republic! I guess the old freeper respect for life and skepticism about power (as expressed on issues such as Waco) have gone down the Freeper Orwellian memory whole for good.

Agreed.

Eh, who knows? The parents could be freepers for all we know, but the woman was an adult and made a bad decision. Her parents and friends will now idolize her for taking a stand.

Unfortunately she was standing in the wrong place.

Sometimes people do stupid, thoughtless, truly idiotic things-- and they pay for them with their lives. Dying defending the homes of Palestinian terrorists doesn't make this woman a martyr.
The students of Tienamen Square were not defending terror and terrorists, they were facing it down-- and they did it rather more intelligently.
