Try eBay or Atkins website www.atkinscenter.com. Their sourdough and rye is pretty good. Also look for Ketogenics brand bread. About 3-5 net carbs per slice.

Would love to find low carb breads. I've tried a few- prepared and mixes. They all tend to be heavy on the soy flour and gluten giving them an unusual flavor and a rubbery consistency. We gave up and will simply wait until we are well established in maintainence to occassionally splurge on real whole-grain stuff.

Would love to find low carb breads. I found low-carb bread at the health food store. It's only 4 carbs a slice, and it's pretty tasty. The slices aren't as big as a slice of regular bread, but it does fill that void. The brand name is Good Life.

HEB grocery has low carb tortillas that are wonderful. After fiber is taken out, they are only 3 carbs. They have a green onion flavored one. Excellent.
Atkins is the only way I have ever lost weight. I started in 1997, lost 25 pounds, and have kept it off until this past year (started eating major carbs and junk again and crept up 15 pounds). I am back on and lost 5 pounds the first week. Ten more to go.
My energy level goes through the roof on Atkins too.

Nature's Own brand has come out with a lower carb bread that is called "reduced carb", or something like that. I haven't seen it here in OK, but friends of mine buy it in Houston.
BTW, you're not really mean, are you? :)

Would love to find low carb breads. We're tried a variety of brands and they all taste like sawdust. I make my own 7-grain bread (bread machine) which has lower carb content than most commercial brands and tastes terrific.

Would love to find low carb breads. I use corn tortillas one tortilla has 11 carbs and you can put just about anything in it. Pining_4_TX mentioned Nature's Own "Reduced Carbohydrate Premium Wheat" bread. I haven't tried it - it's not available up here in Washington, only in the South - but it's getting a lot of buzz at the low-carb newsgroup & in message boards. One slice has 2gm protein/5gm net carbs (total minus fiber.
Myself, being in maintenance, get one of these breads when I get the urge for bread, which is once in a while:
- Oroweat Master's Best Three-Seed, at 4/11 (4gm protein, 11 gm non-fiber carbs) and
- Oroweat Master's Best Winter Wheat at 4/12.
Standard breads, IIRC, have something like 16gm or more carbs per slice, and 2 or 3gm protein.

Nature's Own reduced carbohydrate bread, available at WalMart, 5g impacting per slice. WalMart also carries reduced carb ice cream. I like the almond-chocolate.

I've been on Atkins for 8 months.....and there is bread you can eat. It's "Nature's Own Reduced Carbohydrate". I found this on the Everything Atkins Message board.
