I have 9th row floor seats in Detroit. I was so excited...now I am just pissed off. Do you think I could hit them with tomatoes from there? Any more suitable projectile suggestions would be appreciated.

Any one else remember what happened to K.D. Lang's career when she spouted off that "Meat Stinks". She was never heard on a country station again. I hope the Dxy Cxs saved some of their money, coffee bars in San Francisco won't pay quite so well.

When the war is over, when Saddam is gone, when his hidden weapons caches are on display for the world to see, and when Iraqis are living in freedom, we must not allow anyone to forget the obstacles we had to clear to make it all happen. The French and their ideological soul-mates here in the US will try to wallpaper over their previous comments and actions.

Does anybody remember the obstacles to our action in Afghanistan?

I'm not surprised that you didn't get what I was driving at and that you decided not to comment in any substantive way.

Here it is: You seem to have a problem with individuals viewing some CD's as "acceptable" and some as "unacceptable". If this is not a government edict, what is your problem? Isn't that how free markets work? Reasons for "acceptability" in a free market are numerous, including disagreement with an artists stated political views. Again, what is your problem with that?

My reponse on March 15: The fat chick Natalie has taken the buying public for granted. She killed the Golden Goose. I'll bet the other Chicks just love the fact that their career has been mightily damaged, almost beyound repair! Don Imus had it right...Dixie Pigs. Oh, and another thing...Natalie wouldn't have the guts to make those comments in this country. And, if you think you have curried favor with the hollyweird crowd, think again! They will throw you over in a heartbeat.

>> This thing is going to drag on for a long time. I have a hard time evisioning how they can pull themselves out of this.<<

This will follow them around the rest of their lives. Literally.

Whenever and wherever they go, this will be what people think of when they see them. And they deserve every bit of it.

""As a concerned American citizen, I apologize to President Bush because my remark was disrespectful. I feel that whoever holds that office should be treated with the utmost respect.">

What the writer fails to mention is that this was the *SECOND* attempt at an explanation (the first could *not* be considered anything near an apology) at justifying the original remark made on foreign soil in front of an anti-American crowd. The first explanation didn't get the Chicks very far and actually hurt them more. So Gnatalie came up with this lame attempt.

Alabama was probably the best concert that I have ever been to.

We love our boys from Fort Payne, Alabama. They are just as nice in person too. Just saw Mark the Drummer last week at the local True Value Hardware store and shook his hand. All good Republicans too.

I think the apology came immediately after their "money manager" handed them welfare applications.

I personally liked the playlist, "Where is a rack anyway",could I add "Do you know the way to a rack"? or "I love Bagdad in the Springtime". I think the Dixie Chicks can hit the bigtime wearing the veil and singing the praises of Saddam in the mideast.

When war is ineveitable one cannot just support the troops and not ones country, period.

No matter how you beleive, if it comes down to the nut cuttin', an American must support the country till its over.

You need to rethink your resolve.

"I think that we saw the 'Real Dixie Chicks' when they thought we weren't looking"

I have a friend who is a sound man for a popular blue grass festival which is held in our area. It is a venue for a lot of artists who go on later to become big names. A number of years ago the Dixie Chicks were playing the festival and really torqued my friend. They were arrogant, rude, and unpleasant to those who were there to run sound and manage the stage. I confess that as a result I have never warmed to them. They showed early on that they were not shy to step on folks in their climb to the top.

They have made their money from a base of consumers that are very much into country. Both in music and patriotism. The liberal base that most "stars" hail, didn't make their money from this conservative base. The country music fans hold their stars accountable where a liberal base has a very short (limited) attention span.
