All those Freepers who have been pointing out that something about this case doesn't sound right may be on to something.
For one thing, that younger sister's story is going to have a hard time standing up under scrutiny on the witness stand.

Unless the parents gave permission for Elizabeth Smart to go off with the polygamist, the charge is abduction. If sexual relations occurred, the adult should be charged with statutory rape, whatever the willingness of the teenager. If he took her across state lines, Federal charges go into effect. Perhaps the problem is that polygamy is given a wink and a smile by the authorities.
