Dixie Chicks' manager Simon Renshaw has told radio stations currently boycotting the group's music that the uproar has been ginned up by the Web site FreeRepublic.com, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported Tuesday. As much as I would love for FR to get all the credit for this, IMO this isn't much different than Hillary blaming the VRWC conspiracy for the stupidity of her husband. The Ditzy Chicks are trying to blame FR for that fact that Maines managed to say something so stupid as to alienate her core fan base, and the uproar against them is way too broad-based and organic to have been orchestrated by anyone.
