The Texas Department of Public Safety "riot squad" has been on standby for days, with orders to report to Austin the moment the war starts. DPS is afraid that the lefties in Austin will try to storm the State Capitol or some other public building, especially given that the Texas Legislature is in town. All DPS vacation has also been cancelled, and officers ordered to remain near their posts in case of terrorist attacks.
