Isn't it disgusting how the U.N. wants to coerce any and every woman into having an abortion ignored all of this?

Of course, the DU'ers will never accept these "lies". Must be CIA propaganda, yeah, that's it.

I am a republican conservative and I am not sure it is any more than propaganda..I remember the "babies being thrown out of incubators" propaganda the last time around..

Stories and pictures and video that will rival the Holocaust will soon surface.

I don't think so. The press will begin its own voluntary censorship of these stories and replace them with "atrocities by US soldiers that have been witnessed by reliable sources that wish to remain anonymous".

ABC, NBC, CBS, NYT, LAT, are going to cover for Hussein like they have covered for the Clinton's.

Funny how sensitive some people are about religous references. I don't recall bashing the Vatican. It was at the end of a list of other entities. But I do think the Pope made bad call on this one. And, I'm not the only one saying it. Even the staunch Catholic Bill O'Reilly seems to feel that way.
Someone once said "Politics makes strange bedfellows." This is so true.

Remember when Saddam was the "not so bad" bad guy, who we supported and armed against the "bad" bad guy, Iran? Well apparently now, Saddam is the "bad" bad guy and Iran is the "not so bad" bad guy.

The State Dept. lacks a fully-functional crystal ball--you act based on the best information you have at the time. Nobody's perfect.

We had the opportuinity to eliminate this punk 12 years ago and we turned our back on it.

That was also the fault of the UN. Bush (41) was following their latest edict to liberate Kuwait only and not to storm Baghdad.

Too late the world has seen what an impotent POS the UN is.

Stories about Uday have been circulating for years, particularly how he tortured Iraqi athletes (and photographs of the scars the athletes endured are a matter of a record). His sadism is well known; in that context, this story is perfectly believable.

Regards, Ivan

The 35-year-old has accumulated a host of roles, most notably ownership of the leading Iraqi daily newspaper Babel, and chairmanship of the country's Olympic Committee, football association and journalists' union. He also heads TV and radio stations, is chairman of the board of seven weekly newspapers and owns a night-club. Uday's personal income is estimated to be hundreds of millions of dollars a year. Iraqi opposition groups allege that his ventures include oil smuggling on a massive scale. For many years, Uday acted as the de facto prime minister of Iraq. He was his father's favourite son and considered his heir. But five years ago, he was sidelined after provoking a bloody family rift that led to the defection of Saddam's two sons-in-law to Jordan.

He partially redeemed himself when he lured the defectors back to Baghdad and personally took part in their execution. A year later, would-be assassins sprayed Uday's white Mercedes with bullets while he was on his way to a party in Mansur, a fashionable district of Baghdad. The injuries to his legs and spine appeared to leave him partially paralysed. It is believed the attack was carried out by ordinary Iraqis seeking revenge for Uday's legendary depredations, in particular his notorious pursuit of women. Later, a member of the group which said it had carried out the attack told a British newspaper that, although they had failed to kill Uday, they believed they had eliminated him as a political leader.

In the aftermath of that assassination attempt, Iraqi opposition groups said Uday's younger brother, Qusay was given increasing power. He took charge of the Fedayeen unit (Arabic for fighters who will sacrifice themselves), which was founded by the older son. This was interpreted as a sign that Uday had become too frail to be considered the heir apparent any longer. After his discharge from hospital in June 1997, there were reports that he was suffering severe depression and was subject to violent rages. A month after his release, he shot dead a young bodyguard, and a week later was reported to have killed a woman he had brought to the presidential palace to seduce. Uday acquired a fearsome reputation as a young man.

As a 15-year-old, he was rumoured to have taken part in a massacre of cabinet ministers that consolidated his father's grip on power. Other stories have been told of his fleet of sports cars and of the women he abducted at gunpoint. In 1988, he is alleged to have beaten to death one of Saddam's aides, accusing him of playing the intermediary between a woman and his father. He was sent into exile in Geneva, but returned to take direct charge of the Iraqi football team's attempt to qualify for the 1994 World Cup in the United States. But there were reports that Uday had football players humiliated, beaten and tortured for playing badly or after losing critical matches. Fifa, international football's governing body, launched an investigation, and said later it had found no evidence of torture. But last year, one of the country's star players, Sharar Haydar Mohaad al Hadithi, told the Sunday Times newspaper that he had undergone torture ordered by Uday. Nowadays, Uday is more "reflective and mature", according to his aides. Footage has repeatedly been shown on Iraqi television of him receiving foreign dignitaries and awarding medals to the fedayeen, the paramilitary group he has taken charge of again. And two years ago, he published his 300-page political science doctorate as a supplement inside Babel. It dealt with the effect of post-Cold War conditions on America's superpower status. Public proof of Uday's physical rehabilitation came last December when Iraqi television showed him swimming in the Tigris river.

Of course, the DU'ers will never accept these "lies".

Let's be fair.
The DUers probably dated Uday before the 1996 assassination attempt.
They only know of the "Nice" Uday.

Uday would have had Qusay killed (who some say is nearly as bad) and then Uday would have been in charge in Iraq

Just one of the many reasons the Founding Fathers of the U.S. chose a Constitution, instead of a King.

Uday Hussein: US on Verge of Holy War with Muslims

BAGHDAD, March 19. On setting foot in Iraq, Americans will meet their deaths, Saddam Hussein's eldest son Uday declared yesterday in Baghdad. He said that the mothers and wives of US soldiers would 'cry not tears, but blood,' and declared that the war in Iraq would become a holy war for all Muslims.

Uday also said that neither Saddam Hussein nor his family members were intending to leave Iraq, and stressed that if necessary Saddam would take part in the war himself. Yesterday, many Iraqi newspapers published a photograph of Saddam Hussein in a military uniform.

Meanwhile, American liberals from the Democratic party and Hoolywood continue to
defend this slug.

Seeing how he likes sex with 12 year old girls, Hollywood is probably thinking
dollar signs.
Heck, he could produce the next version of "The Pianist".

(A great movie, by a great director...but I refuse to see it until Polansky
comes back, faces his crime, and does his time. Guess that makes me a real bad person...)
