[history]
A senior pentagon official has confirmed to Fox News on Sunday that coalition forces have discovered a "huge" chemical weapons factory near the Iraqi city of An Najaf, which is situated some 225 miles south of Baghdad.
Coalition troops are also said to be holding the general in charge of the facility.

"FOX is saying it is a 100 acre facility! No wonder the weapons inspectors missed it."Amazing isn't it? 12 years of weapons inspections, and the US Troops find a huge one in less that a week! And the kicker is.....the facility was camoflauged as a sand dune!
Gawd I love our troops!

"Are you sure the word "weapons" was used?"
Yes.

This will be CNN's headline at the end;
"America wins war, dammit!"
CNN almost gave the White House to Al Whore in 2000 (along with Dan Rather's best efforts, of course).
It's the only news channel socialists can stomach.
Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, Martin Sheen should be watching it about right now . .

Give 'em break. It is a mobile facility. It has wheels under it.
To: the Deejay
FNC just stated that the inspectors just visited a cement factory there and missed it...

What this does is pretty much tell the UN and the rest of the world what we found out...
I thinkthis is going to keep us from getting condemned. Becuase if that happens, the UN will have taken Iraq's side on the issue.

I agree! And don't you think that either one of these generals might be willing tell us where other "factories" are to make it easier on themselves?

Yes.... glad to see this finally being confirmed such that the major news media will begin to pick it up. There were a couple of threads about
11 AM CST this morning but the media wasn't playing with it. Fox said they spent a good amount of time trying to get confirmation from the Pentagon/WH before bringing it to the tv.... Now the question is what was being mfg there...

a "huge" chemical weapons factory near the Iraqi city of An Naja - a city that the Blix Brigade supposedly visited, and now they're saying this weapons factory is 100 acres large. Gee. I wonder where it came from.

Why doesn't anyone else have this news?!

it has captured what could be the first chemical weapons plant uncovered since the onset of Operation Iraqi Freedom. I am cautious because the disappointment around here if this story is oversold will be huge. It will be sort of like the contents of the Starr Report, which discerning Freepers realized immediately would be insufficient to remove Clinton from office.

Yep...the CIA built this thing - they've had a couple of days to do it.

I'm glad to see FOX News picked this up. It had been posted earlier as a piece from the Jerusalem Post. I'm glad to see the mainstream media mentioning it. Have CNN or PMSNBC mentioned it yet?
There was also a thread earlier about the British finding a huge facility packed with rockets and missles; also banned under the UN disarmament agreements. Has FOX News mentioned that?

No, they are just going to plant the chems in it. It really was the cement plant that Blix found. He will appear soon to report this.

Oh no...you're right!!! Or was it if Iraq USED chemicals?

Mancow ( Chicago DJ on "Fox And Friends" ) had this from a year ago about a stuntman who jumped from a building onto cardboard boxes during a TV show. He said that it went great for the stuntman but tragedy did strike. Because someone was living in one of the cardboard boxes, Paula Zahn.

if it wasn't chemical weapons why would they have troops with a general there?
To: marajade
if it wasn't chemical weapons why would they have troops with a general there?Exactly. And they also had it laced with traps and explosives.
