I observed at least one soldier with gauze over wounds in the abdomen/chest area, and also a head shot. I'm thinking that the gauze over a mid section wound, would be of little help if the same person had a fatal head shot. Therefore I conclude that the soldier was possibly wounded in the battle, and was summarily executed as he lay wounded in the road.
It appeared that other soldiers had head shots. In a running fire fight, I can't see the Iraqi's getting off several lucky shots to the heads of the soldiers that were KIA.

Uh, in order to have a chest shot, he would have to have his kelvar off.
They stripped these guys and executed them. Head and chest shots are a Baathist trait.
After we take Baghdad we need to go back, hunt and exterminate these folks.

I agree, they were executed, which is what defense people have declared to VOA as noted in the post.
