I don't disagree with your analysis of the current political situation in the world, except for the Turkey part.

If it's any consolation, I expect we'll pick up Turkey and Canada and Mexico in our wake. But it would be far better if they had seen the common interest. What we need in this new century are allies that step up to the challenge. Like Britain and New Europe. Hell, like even Spain and Italy did. Even some of the normally hostile Arab states have treated us better than has Turkey and some other regularly allied countries.
I've said it all along. It's a shame that Turkey has done these things. For them, for us.
