Yesterday our military historian noted that he saw a line of Marine amphibious vehicles moving out. They did not have soldiers ON them, so he wondered if the Marines were IN them. It would be, he said, theoretically possible just to move those vehicles right up the Tigris in the water. Hmmmm.

Neon bizarro-world tunnel. Every time I go through from terminal B to C it occurs to me "what the hell were they thinking?" I'm surprised you don't see more people collapsing in seizures on those walkways.

I am reminded of the eternal echo from beneath O'hare....

LOL! And that dreadful Gershwin music IIRC.

Ever play one of those "dungeon" games with lots of twisty turny passages? I am sure our guys have all played variations of these - this is the video game generation. Will be just like "Duke Nukem", "Castle Wolfenstein", or similar variation.

What's on the other side of the Tigris river?

I believe more of Baghdad. The Tigris splits the city.

Where's Geraldo when you need him?

Great idea. Send Geraldo in then flush every toilet in the Airport. Surfs up Geraldo dude.

About ten days ago I said, when Saddam Airport is taken by coalition forces, the end for the murderous regime would be near.

It's now happened. The end is near.

After all Blix couldn't find them!!!

crikey...what a waste. did you get the e-mail going around a few weeks ago about how that if the UN REALLY wanted to find something, they would send a MOM? Mom ALWAYS knows where stuff is....soccer cleats, homework, stolen cookies....hell, I could have found those darn weapons. No offense, but a team of MEN looking for something? (chuckle, chuckle...)

OK, I realize that Fox News and 20th Century Fox are owned by the same folks, and I know that Fox News sometimes hypes Fox movies, but,,,

Why are they letting Yoda write their headlines?

Call the Orkin man!!! I remember in the last Indiana Jones movie they went down in a tunnel with a lot of RATS. Wonder if these tunnels contain RATS!

CNN now reporting that the Elite Republican Guard are hiding out in Baghdad preparing for Urban combat. I cannot believe I am watching CNN but I cannot stand Press/Buchanan and I refuse to watch Togo West being interviewed on Fox!

I hope not. Lots and lots of casualties from straight tunnel fighting. But I wouldn't be averse to dumping lots of gasoline down there and lighting it. I'm also guessing that they have some remote-controlled probes that can go down there and see what's up.

lights out in Baghdad

And on CNN's live feed, obviously. Instead of the night vision lens showing buildings and traffic, all they've got is a black screen showing occasional ghostly lights (vehicles, I assume).
