Hackworth is on a new cause...war related diseases. He said before the war that our troops were not equipped with viable gear to withstand bio or chemical attacks. One thing he said that I laughed at was that our soldiers "do not have a place to change into their gear".
Yes, I know he was an honorable soldier, but nowdays, he seems a fruitcake.

What irritates me about him is that he always claims to stand "for the troops," but he has a strictly Democrat attitude: they're a bunch of helpless victims, and we can "help" them only by not putting them into conflict. Thus our military just becomes a back-door means of giving welfare in the form of G.I. Bills and other veterans' benefits. A Republican attitude would be that of any of the Fox News analysts: our troops deserve our support and our confidence in their ability. We also demand that they earn their paycheck when it becomes necessary--something that the vast majority of them are willing to do, Col. Hackworth notwithstanding.
