Good morning Canteeners, Troops, Vets, Allies, Volunteers and your families! Before I step out I would like to wish you all

Blessings at Easter
and baskets of joy.

Happy Easter to you, my friend.
This day's light shall have no end.
For Christ did rise
in the golden morn
And by His life are we reborn.

Happy Easter to one and all!
The night is over, the sun is tall.
The day did break with a tiny beam
And flooded life with Light supreme.

Today's FEEBLE attempt at humor:

A pastor was giving the children's message during church. For
this part of the service, he would gather all the children around
him and give a brief lesson before dismissing them for children's
church.

On this particular Sunday, he was using squirrels for an object
lesson on industry and preparation. He started out by saying,
"I'm going to describe something, and I want you to raise your
hand when you know what it is." The children nodded eagerly.

"This thing lives in trees (pause) and eats nuts (pause)..." No
hands went up. "And it is gray (pause) and has a long bushy
tail (pause) . . . " The children were looking at each other, but
still no hands raised. "And it jumps from branch to branch
(pause) and chatters and flips its tail when it's excited
(pause) . . . "

Finally one little boy tentatively raised his hand. The pastor
breathed a sigh of relief and called on him. "Well," said the boy,
"I KNOW the answer must be Jesus -- but it sure sounds like a
squirrel to me!"

The light of God surround you
The love of God enfold you
The power of God protect you
The presence of God watch over you
Wherever you are,God is,
And all is well.
Amen.

.

Bless This House

Bless this house O Lord we pray; Make it safe by night and day; Bless these walls so firm and stout, Keeping want and trouble out: Bless the roof and chimneys tall, Let thy peace lie over all; Bless this door, that it may prove ever open to joy and love. Bless these windows shining bright, Letting in God's heav'nly light; Bless the hearth a'blazing there, with smoke ascending like a prayer; Bless the folk who dwell within, keep them pure and free from sin; Bless us all that we may be Fit O Lord to dwell with thee; Bless us all that one day we May dwell O Lord with thee.

Hi Tonk, everyone!

The following is a prayer I have just finished writing for my mother a little while ago. I wish everyone here a very blessed and joyous Easter.

Beloved Heavenly Father,

You have granted us on this day the understanding that you have given us a Messiah, a Savior. You have sent to us our Lord, Jesus, who is the Christ manifest for us all. We are here before you on bended knee praising you and thanking you for this immeasurable gift. Because He lived a life of perfect grace and strength we have hope. Father, please surround with light all of your sons and daughters throughout the world. Help all to become acquainted with this magnificent Savior.

We commend into your keeping the US and coalition troops who are in harm's way. We ask for miracles for them in time of danger. Bless and guide our President and all our elected leaders. Bless all who are seeking to bring about a new representative government in both Afghanistan and Iraq. Bless all teachers and those who care for the young. Bless the doctors and nurses and all who care for the sick. We ask for miracles of healing for those who are sick or injured. Father, protect the smallest of babies who are seeking life at the portals of birth. Comfort and give courage to the oldest ones who are perched on the edge of infinity as they ponder the lives they have completed living. Give wings to these who are seeking life and who are returning to you from life. For those of us who are here in the midst of the drama, grant us wisdom and the grace to find and follow the Plan you have developed for us.

We ask you Father to intercede and mitigate according to thy will in any and all situations which could be potentially disastrous for life. Please intercede into any and all plans, plots, or preparations for terroristic activities against innocent life. Place your hand into the earth and let the fault lines and volcanoes dissipate their energies with a minimum of loss of life and destruction of property. We ask that you will calm the waters of the floods and tidal waves. Pacify and send the winds of the hurricanes and tornadoes over waters and lands which are uninhabited. Calm the storms by your grace and will. Dampen the wildfires when they rage across a dry landscape. Reach into the heavens and use your divine calculus to spare our earth from being harmed by any meteor or asteroid. We plead for the continued grace of life on this earth. We plead for opportunity.

We are grateful Our Father, for the opportunity and gifts you have given us this day. You have given us family and friends. You have provided air, water, food, and a place to sleep. Father, for those who do not have these basic gifts, we ask that you will grant them to those in need. Help us to use all the gifts from your hands wisely and well.

We are in awe as we witness the miracle of new life coming forth in the spring time. Help us to experience a resurrection in our own lives; a renewal of faith and hope; a renewal of peace.

Father, we thank you and ask that only your will be done in our lives this day and all the days of our lives.
Amen
