Governor George E. Pataki To Become a Mason
NY Masons ^ | 5/5/03

Posted on 05/05/2003 1:44:26 PM PDT by areafiftyone

I have the distinct pleasure to announce that our Governor, the Honorable George E. Pataki, has accepted my offer to join our fraternity and become a Master Mason.

On the cover of the next issue of the EMPIRE STATE MASON will feature him accepting my invitation at our meeting on June 6, 2002. Pictured also will be Brother Kurt Ott, Convention Chairman and Brother William Hetzler, both members of Schiller Lodge in the 9th Manhattan District. Brother William Hetzler is also the Assistant to the Governor for German Affairs and it was through his effort that the meeting was arranged and the Governor agreed to be a member of our beloved fraternity.

Governor Pataki has displayed the kind of leadership and quality in a man that our organization looks for. That leadership was most evident on September 11, 2001 when he was instrumental in helping to restore calm and committing the total resources of New York State to New York city. He activated the New York State National Guard to provide security for our airports, bridges, tunnels and waterways. My daughter Danielle and I personally met with him in New York City with families of the rescue workers who were missing at the time. Everyone commented favorably on the Governor’s leadership and support during the World Trade Center disaster.

As soon as I have received the date from the Governor I will exercise one of the prerogatives of a Grand Master, and make Governor George E. Pataki a “Mason at Sight,” in accordance with Section 216 of our Masonic Law. I will be sending a special announcement to all lodges and expect maximum attendance to witness this historic event, the likes of which has not taken place in the last 133 years in New York. After his initiation there will be a public ceremony at Grand Lodge, to which the press will be invited, to announce that the Governor has been made a Mason.

Sincerely,

M.·. W.·. Carl J. Fitje
Grand Master

Very good information you posted.

Congratulations on your conversion. I recently converted also - from protestant chaos...

Traced to its roots, it is satanic.

Nonsense. Traced to your roots (Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden), you are "satanic."

I thought that was the Shriners. They're not the same thing as the Masons, are they?

All Shriners are Masons. But, not vice versa.

Here are a couple of interesting historical pages on the issue.

Mormonism and Anti-Masonry

The Masonic Baptism of William Morgan Turns out that William Morgan was one of the earliest beneficiaries of Mormon "proxy baptism" thanks to his newly-converted and remarried Mormon widow.

BTW, interestingly, the heart of the Anti-Masonic movement consisted not of Roman Catholics but of the traditionally anti-Catholic Puritans and unitarians of New England and the Northeast. In fact, Catholics were an early part of the Jacksonian coalition which was closely associated with Masonry.

While many identify Masonry with the proto-Communist Illuminati, it is also true that many of the Anti-Masons were themselves very radical (another irony is that many Northeastern radicals began their political lives as ultraconservative Federalists).

As I said, I love American history (especially its more esoteric and unknown aspects).

Now, where did I say that there weren't websites devoted to conspiracies? I would imagine there are thousands of them. But, you will note that the existance of a website devoted to a "conspiracy" does not prove the conspiracy exists, now does it?

The point I made is that "proof" is notably lacking in all conspiracy theories. In fact, the lack of "proof" is often cited as "proof" of the existance of the conspiracy.

Take, your example, JFK. Let us hypothesize that I have proof (however you wish to define proof) that X was responsible. Within moments of releasing this proof, dozens of websites would be launched devoted to proving that my proof was part of the conspiracy to conceal the fact that Y really did it.

PS. Try following your own advice.

Masonry is incompatible with Christianity

If the idea of Christianity is blind and unswerving obedience to fundamentalist dogma and the absence of thought, then you are of course correct...

The Roman Catholic Church opposes Freemasonry, and discourages Catholics from joining, because the church does not control Freemasonry! The primary objection to Freemasonry held by the Catholic church hierarchy, and many fundamentalist Protestants churches as well, is that you do not have to be a Christian to belong: you do not have to declare Christ as your savior. Religious beliefs and affiliations are left as personal issues for all Masons, but we are encouraged to develop a relationship with God and to work at becoming men of good character and morals. The only requirement for joining Freemasonry related to religion is that you believe in a "Supreme Being", that you not be an atheist. There are thousands of Freemasons who at Jews, Christians, Hindu, Moslem, and other men of good faith who believe in God but do not belong to a specific religious organization. Discussion of specific religious or political beliefs is discouraged among Masons in general, and most certainly while in Lodge. It is not our goal to take over the world; we’ll leave that to pompous politicians.

Dear wideawake,

"The Knights of Columbus was founded as a non-secret society with the express purpose of competing with the Masons."

Not quite. The Knights of Columbus was founded with the express purpose of providing aid to the families of Catholic workingmen. That it competed, in a sense, with masonry was not its express purpose.

Particularly after that Friday the 13th back in the 14th century when king phillip of france at the behest of the french pope, rounded up all the knights templar, confiscated all their belongings, and burned their leader jacques demolay in arso vivo (at the stake like joan of arc)...

it was just a coincidence that he owed demolay and the templar order vast sums of money which he squandered on frivolous wars...

The Illuminati are proto-Communists?? That is an interesting twist of conspiracy theory I've not heard a glimmer of before ...

Yes, they are part of the same organization. Think of Shriners as Junior Varsity Masons and you'll be pretty close.

Shriners are Junior Varsity to Masons? What the hell are you talking about! It's clear you're absolutely clueless. Please find some friends who are Masons (you'll be surprised at how many there are) and talk to them a little about Freemasonry before you make a complete fool of yourself. I'm sure that many people make this kind of flip remark thinking they’re just being clever, but they come across as idiots.

Wrong! I have known a few Masons in my time.

One of the more well-known charities that the Masons support is the Shriners hospital right?

I was told - by them - that anyone can become a Shriner, but through various achievements he can become a Mason of various higher degrees.

At which point he sells his soul to the devil to get one of those dorky little cars. KA-PLAMMMMMO!

Some one the site need an explanation.
Masons are basicly a Fraternity operating inthe local community. The basics here are Brotherly love, relief and truth. They help each other and contribute to the relief of the brothers, widows, and orphans. Some lodges participate in community events designed to aid various civic projects or issues. They quietly live their lives in an examplary fashion and will render what assistance they can to those less fortunate.
The Shrine of North America is an extension of that Fraternity who's purpose originally was to have fun. The rituals and regalia used is based around Ali Babba in the Arabian Nights. The dress (Fez and robes) are just an Arabic Theme with no religious conection what-so-ever. As their parties and gatherings grew successful and money was earned they first gave to the relief of many American disasters, from Yellow Fever Outbreaks, to the Johnstown Flood. The Hospital System came into being in 1922 and have become the chief mission of the Shrine. There is no sinister purpose other than having fun and raising funds for the Hospitals.
No matter what else is said here that is what it all about. The Anti-
Masons here would have you believe that we are against God and religon but thatis far from the TRUTH. Masonry encourages each to practice their own religion in their own way and be tolerant of others. Just when you start to agree that Masons may not be that bad after all, they then hit you with the bull that only the Elite Masons know of the deep secrets and how we run the Organization. What good would it do to have a membership of over 6 million Masons who haven't a clue as to what they stand for? How could they "Rule the World" if they don't know what is expected of them?
Most of them will also state they know someone who knows somebody who read something about Masonry. THEY DON"T HAVE A CLUE. Mason Bashing has gone on for some time. Everyone can cite an indivual who may have acted in a manner not consistant with the values imposed by good civil obediance. The main thing to ask yourself is why did so many great men join Masonry throughout the years. Many of them were founding fathers of this country. Many were statesmen, inventors composers, military, Clergy, etc., or simply just plain everyday God fearing men who lead normal family lives.
Men I am proud to call Brother.

My grandfather was a 32nd degree Mason and after accepting a relationship with the Lord recanted the darkness of the Mason hierarchy at the top levels. Ritual anti-Christ abomination is the only way I could describe it.

Masons are human secularists at best, IMO. At worst, the highest ranking Masons are full of unspeakable darkness or they wouldn't participate in the satist rituals that have been uncovered.

If the idea of Christianity is blind and unswerving obedience to fundamentalist dogma and the absence of thought, then you are of course correct...

In other words, Catholicism. Which is why Catholics who join the lodge are automatically excommunicated. Besides the fact of their plotting against the Church. (Try looking up Gabriel Garcia Moreno and also the P2-Vatican Bank scandal and also Masonry-Mafia connections.)

The problem with Masonry in the US isn't the usual men's club stuff we've heard enough about here. Those wrapped up in that are your second and third degree masons. The problem is the upper level Masons who are in complete agreement with the behavior and tenor of the Grand Orient Lodge and similar overseas. And also that the Masonic Brotherhood allows easy entrance through the community with many willing and ignorant helpers to anyone who knows the greetings and the like, with no questioning as to what they might be up to. To say nothing, of course, of the corruption we see all to frequently in many places where the police and judiciary are all Masons and discriminate in favor of their brothers in legal matters (something that led to quite a scandal in London not so long ago).
