A liberal filled with terror. "A Mean Spirited America"

LIVING IN FEAR I feel far more vulnerable and frightened than I ever have in my 50 years on the planet. It is the United States government I am afraid of.
Meanwhile, here in our great democracy, Americans go along with the program or remain silent, too afraid of the Muslim bogeymen thousands of miles away to recognize the Christian ones in our midst. Fearful that we will be verbally attacked, or shunned, or lose our livelihoods if we dare question the meanness that characterizes our government and, increasingly, defines our national character. I do not feel safer now than I did six, or 12, or 24 months ago. In fact, I feel far more vulnerable and frightened than I ever have in my 50 years on the planet. It is the United States government I am afraid of. In less than two years the Bush administration has used the attacks of 9/11 to manipulate our fear of terrorism and desire for revenge into a blank check to blatantly pursue imperialist objectives internationally and to begin the rollback of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and most of the advances of the 20th century.
RECIPE FOR CHANGE It is none too early to begin organizing for the 2004 elections. Each of us must take a hard look at the changes that have been wrought by this administration internationally and domestically and ask ourselves: Is this the democracy we cherish? We must hold our elected officials accountable and make them take a stand against what increasingly looks like fascism. If they will not, we must vote them out of office.

This column would have been a lot of fun to read if the reality wasnt so sad.. What Ms. Nelson says she believes is so threatening to this nation is in reality t the number one job of the government according to the constitution. To protect this nation
, both foreign and domestic. I believe her true fear is that this administration has done more for this nations security in two years, (both foreign and domestic) than 40 years of liberal foolishness and that the American public is becoming aware of this as well. Therefore, Democrat policy and the Liberal utopian dream are not resonating anymore, and are being exposed as useless feel good rhetoric. When President Reagan won the cold war and brought down the Berlin wall, liberal Democrats gave credit to the Soviets and wrote off President Reagan as a bumbling fool that was in office at the right time. Now that President Bush is winning the war on terror with the same conviction and methods used by President Reagan (using military strength instead of U.N. insignificance) it is much harder if not impossible for the liberal democrats to give the credit to something other than conservative ideals. Democrats have a low opinion of the American people anyway, but to think that America will not connect the dots on the two victories is delusional. The other great Reagan legacy, was the tax cuts and the record economic boom that resulted. If President Bush passes his tax cuts and the same or greater boom is a result, what is left for the liberals to demagogue and how would their credibility suffer? My stomach would hurt and I would be filled with terror as well if the prospect of spending the rest of my life was to witness the complete collapse and rejection of the liberal ideals I spent my life supporting.

All the liberals are cowering in fear inside their Lexus SUV's or rent controlled pre-war apartments on Central Park West, knowing that the Christian Fascist robots of Bush and Ashcroft are on the march. Only Kofi Annan and Jacques Chirac can save them. Oh the humanity. Why is this happening?

I do not feel safer now than I did six, or 12, or 24 months ago. If I have anything to say about, you shouldn't.

Meanness? Meanness?! How old is this woman, ten, twelve?

They could harmonous with Lennon's "Imagine".
They need to read "Commanding Heights" by Pulitzer prize winning author, Daniel Yergin, which offers extensive research into what has and has not worked around the world economically, since the Great Depression. Unquestionably "Reaganism" and "Thatcherism" were by far the most successful economic models followed.
As a country needs police to prevent chaos so does the world. The UN proved to be too riddled in corruption to act in that capacity. The US is the only force mighty enough to be able take on that role. See what being kind does... Clinton's soft hand help nurture 100,000 very cute troops in Afghanistan to be able to attack America. "Oh Mr Bush your just too tough!" :) They need to wake up.

This socialist's commentary is the best kind of evidence that something is going right in America. It's been a long time coming, but 70 years of socialist domination over the intellectual, political, and ethical direction of our culture is definitely being challenged. The facism charge is hauled out by the left every time a Republican is elected. The fact is they are the National Socialists in our midst.

Great heavens! I've been fooled all this time but Jilly's saved me and now the scales are fallen from my eyes! Here I thought that it was guys with Kalashnikovs and Semtex running airliners into buildings that were endangering me, but no. It was those Christians all along! To think I once thought Mother Teresa was a nice person...well, I want to tell you, they better watch out, those guys with the white shirts on the bikes, the ones leaving the pamphlets on my doorstep, the ones who smile and say "God bless you," and give stuff to the poor and all that - it's nothing but a disguise! Those people are TERRORISTS!!
Well, I'm awful glad Jilly set me straight...

Meanness? Read the story about the leftist students and faculty at University of Georgia law school trying to get Justice Thomas uninvited as commencement because he's "unworthy," then tell me who's "mean."
To: wpetty19
Muslim Bogeymen? They look pretty real to me.
This looks pretty real, too.

Hahahaha. My personal favorite is "hurtful". In my mind's eye I picure anyone actually using that word stamping their little feet like a three year old having tantrum.
