I've had it.

Posted on 05/20/2003 8:43:51 AM PDT by BeerSwillr

I've had it with illegal aliens, illegal immigration, and the complicit attitude of US immigration policy!

My 16 year old has been looking for a summer job for the last 3 months, what he's found has been surprising. Not only are there no summer jobs available, there are no jobs available, period, for someone with no experience.

So you say he's not looking hard enough? That the jobs are there, you just have to find them. HA!

All the entry level, low skill jobs that would normally be taken by teenagers and young adults during the summer are being taken by illegal immigrants, at least here in Texas. The few places that don't hire illegals have to contend with 10 or more applicants for each open position.

So who is this hurting you ask? Just a few teenagers who will be back in school in a couple of months? Just a few teenagers that will contribute little to the overall economic picture? WRONG!

You know the answer. It's hurting everyone. Teenagers would spend almost every penny they earned, contributing immensely to the overall economic health of the US. They would be in the malls, movie theaters, and restaurants spending their hard earned pay, leaving their parents free to spend their money on something else.

The illegal aliens? They used to maintain a low profile. Now, they don't bother. They can be seen everywhere; mowing lawns, planting trees, roofing & framing houses, working at the lube shack, pouring concrete, gathering at several official and unofficial day worker hang-outs in the mornings (when it would be extremely easy for immigration to swoop in and arrest them.)

Where you don't and won't see them is out spending their money (except for at Wal-Mart.) You don't see them at Bennigans, Chilis, Tony Romas, Cinemark, the mall, car dealerships, etc.

Know why?

They don't have any money to spend on the US economy because they're sending everything except a small subsistence back to Mexico.

The illegals are not here to help us or the US economy. Anyone that says they are here to take jobs that US citizens don't want is being disingenuous.

They're siphoning off millions of dollars a year from the economy. Not only by taking jobs, but a host of other ways; education benefits, medical assistance, government assistance, thievery, robbery, drug dealing, you name it, they're involved in it.

And what is the Department of Homeland Security™ doing about this? They're putting on a dog and pony show.

They're outlining major new methods of monitoring ports of entry, airports, etc. with biometrics, fingerprinting, radar, facial recognition technology, and who knows what else, while at the same time doing nothing to monitor thousands of miles of open space where, apparently, it is relatively easy to cross into the US.

It seems to me that simple reconnaissance flights over that vast unmonitored territory would be able to identify these border violations and put a stop to, or at least slow, this illegal invasion of our country.

The Department of Homeland Security™ is largely ignoring the issue. Illegal entry into the US continues unabated across our borders.

It makes me sick.

What can we do about it? Other than mew weakly and post articles like this on the large wasteland that is the internet?

Contact your elected officials and let them know what you're thinking. Let them know you will hold them accountable. It's all in our hands.

You'll see them at COSTCO. They started selling them memberships there years ago.

I'm glad that you make your voice heard. I do the same thing. Whether the companies do anything about it or not remains to be seen, however, letting them know your opinion of their employees is what they NEED to hear. Keep up the good work and don't give in even though at times it seems useless. They have that saying "the squeeky wheel gets the oil" for a reason!

The INA also makes it illegal to recruit someone for employment if you know he/she is an illegal alien and prohibits hiring a person without verifying documentation showing that the person is authorized to work in the U.S.

So the city of Plano, by creating a place where day laborers can find employment, is actually in violation of US law. There is no way the can't know that the majority of the people that cogregate at that location are illegal immigrants.

"The Jews are taking our jobs and money"
"The Mexicans are taking our jobs and money"

They sound pretty similar to me.

Well i'm not sure where you're at, i'm assuming that we are talking about the same type of Agricultural breaking your back work. Maybe the people here are just lazier, I don't know but I can tell you that the Mexican's do it cheaper and as much as I hate to say it better than the labor workers around here.

You also have to keep in mind that most agricultural jobs are seasonal. A lot of Americans don't like to do seasonal work. Would you keep your current job if it was seasonal?

D*mn illegals. Who do they think they are, trying to scratch out a better life for their families, taking all the sh*t jobs no self-respecting adult would have?!

they don't.

I'm a fairly good spanish speaker. Been working for a company for a little over a year and have many Mexican friends on the job or so I thought.

Just the other day, I asked a girl who I thought was my friend what I should do my spanish oral presentation on and she told me that I should do it on how the Mexicans are going to own the USA again "like they once did" and how lazy Americans are.

Another time, I was speaking with one of my Mexican co-workers in spanish and this fat Mexican bitch says, "why don't you shut up and go away? You are NOT my people!"

I encounter racism on the job everyday, you think I say anything? Hell no, wtf do you think the company would do about it except take a long look at whitey like some of the freepers on this thread?

Maybe some concerned citizens will file a complaint against Plano with the INI.

> It's not about race, it's about borders, language and culture.

That's true, only a lot of so-called minorities (sorry, I think people are people until they get in my face, then that PERSON or organization that person represents becomes a schmuck in my view) think that whitey-bashing is the thing to do and are indeed more racist than any Klan member you will ever run into. The "Reconquista" Latinos are particularly vicious with their lie of "we are taking back our land" -- I say again, they need to talk to the Cherokee, the Apache...etc.

My worst fear is that we are going to have a race war in this country within the next decade and it will not be pretty for anyone.

If it comes to that, all I can say is, follow the Boy Scout motto and "Be Prepared."

Really, so who does it belong to if not the American people, the world? They own America, maybe the UN, tell us.

I had a similar experience ten years ago when a young black man co-worker, who was a friend, told me that my views on racial issues were null and void, because I did not have black skin. I don't call him a name, like you call her a "Mexican b**ch" today. I just chalk it up to his ignorance.

Hmmm... I beg to differ about their spending habits. From the amount of shopping that I do, I see more immigrants (don't know if they are illegal or not, didn't ask) spending more money on frivolous things than I as a citizen do.>>>>>>>>>

Yes, & many have that "extra income" that the welfare check
brings in EVERY MONTH, plus most don't have to worry with
the cost of health insurance, their's is FREE.

My husband often jokes that he should quit his job, so we lose our home, end up on welfare, and live in low-income housing. With all of the perks that the government pays for, our standard of living might actually rise, by making such a wise career move!

you can chalk it up to ignorance all you want.

what do you end up with?

No more canvas to chalk on and you're surrounded by ignorance.

reminds me of when some freeper told me "son, you know that old squeaky wheel that always gets the grease, sometimes it just gets replaced."

Instead, it's the silent majority of wheels getting replaced. too bad, huh? let's all shrug our shoulders, collectively sigh and say "awe shucks" together, shall we?

You already admitted you can't complain to your employer. So, what other option do you have than to be quiet at work? The woman is ignorant, so are lots of people. I don't understand your complaint.
