And it's not just the wages; the overwhelming of the emergency rooms and the healthcare system and other social services, millions of dollars in unpaid medical bills that have forced some medical facilities to close, the uninsured drivers, increased violent crime, stolen vehicles heading straight to Mexico, sharp increases in insurance rates, lanquage difficulties in schools, and I could go on. All this in just the city I live in in a southern border state and it's not unique. And nothing is being done to solve the problems.

And it's not just the wages; the overwhelming of the emergency rooms and the healthcare system and other social services, millions of dollars in unpaid medical bills that have forced some medical facilities...

Here in Salinas CA one of our two hospitals, Natividad Medical Center, is in dire danger of closing precisely because of the hemorrhage of funds spent on taking care of half the population of Mexico. People sneak in their entire families just to get them into Natividad for free medical and dental care. This is apart from MediCal or anything like that, too. It's a real crisis for a city of nearly 200,000, where the population has doubled in less than ten years, almost entirely due to two factors: illegal as well as some legal Mexicasn immigrants, and the bleedover from Silicon Valley while the boom was happening up there.

We can hardly contain ourselves here. Housing is at an absolute breaking point, the gang problem is way out of hand. I want to get out of here so badly!
