I confess that I visited two different McDonalds in the past week.

In both cases the staff was 100 percent hispanic, and on both visits I had to repeat my order twice due to the tenuous grasp of the English language.

Both places were in upscale suburban neighborhoods.

Another factor in all of this is the raising in the minimum wage when the economy was experiencing the technology/telecommunication/dotcom bubbles. A lot more jobs would have been available if the minimum wage were lower.

In both cases the staff was 100 percent hispanic, (100 percent hispanic or 100 percent illegal immigrants?) and on both visits I had to repeat my order twice due to the tenuous grasp of the English language. (That's always frustrating.)

Both places were in upscale suburban neighborhoods. (THE HORROR!)

More than likely the owner couldn't find any 'local' teenagers willing to work because mommy and daddy give them money to go to the mall, so why work? I know that's the way it is in my area. Believe me, there are way more teenagers who have no intention of working anywhere, let alone a disgusting fast-food outlet. They are a bunch of spoiled rotten brats who sleep until mid afteroon and run all night.

Not mine, though.
