The fact that they are here is enough for me. They are competing for the jobs that kids on summer break or just out of high school used to fill, and it's affecting not only my son. From reading some of the responses, it's happening in other locations around the country as well. It is only going to get worse unless something is done.
I can only give you anecdotal evidence. Look around and you will see it, or you can go here.
---Servers on the line at Luby's, illegal immigrants.
---Staff at local fast food establishments, illegal immigrants.
---Car wash staff, illegal immigrants.
---Staff at the local flower nursery, illegal immigrants.
---Roofers, illegal immigrants.
---Lawn care, illegal immigrants.
Throughout high school I had these type of jobs. Now the kids can't get them. Granted some kids may not want these type of jobs, but many do.
So, since the illegals are here they have taken what opportunities there may have been.
And not only that but they are weakening our economy by sending a large majority of their earnings back home to Mexico rather than spending it here.
They came for the teenagers jobs....
We can all figure out the rest.
Their discussing this now on the westcoast blowtorch station, KFI 640. It reminded me of your thread. There talking about how literally hundreds of thousands of jobs that used to be held by our young people have been taken by illegals, that are willing to work for near nothing, and won't complain about working conditions, or ask for raises etc, etc.
