Good points, and Annika will be teeing off last with all of the spike marks on dry greens in afternoon winds.. (with normal PGA speeds)

She has the HUGE advatage of knowing exactly what she has to shoot to make the cut. Going last is preferrable. That's why the 1st place player gets to go last on Sunday.

All of a sudden this fugly chick is "hot" because it makes her somehow more sympathetic.

Well, I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't know if anybody's calling her "hot," but her disposition is certainly better than that of some of the growling old coots like Singh and Nick Price.

Woods never plays here, because the course is gimmicky and not designed for tournament play. The hardest holes are all on the fron nine. Know any others like that?

Woods has been skipping Colonial because until this year it has been known as the Master Card Colonial. Master Card is a competitor one of his Corporate Sponsors, American Express. Why he skipped this year is anybody’s guess. I doubt very seriously it has anything to do with the golf course. Have you read anywhere where he said the course is gimmicky?

God what a stupid golf course Colonial is. Too bad none of the greens have a clown's head on them.

prettyidiotic9 has got major heartburn over cute little Annika 's gigging of the boys.

I've heard stuff about Augusta National's greens (over the bridge, through the clown's mouth), but our little "expert" only has a bone for Colonial:

Ken Green, who shot an 87, had a five-putt green on No. 16.

U.S. Open champion Steve Jones, who shot an 82, four-putted from 40 feet on No. 8.

"The fourth putt was a 4-footer," Jones said. "If I miss that one I seven-putt."

Greg Norman, whose first competitive round at the Masters since his collapse last year was a 77, had a 6-foot putt for par on No. 2 and a 66-footer coming back for bogey. He made a 7.

And Faldo, who had one three-putt in 72 holes in winning at Augusta last year, three-putted four of the first six holes on his way to a 75. - 1997 Masters

Do the research yourself. This fact is KNOWN by anybody who has watched golf for more than the last month. Go to the library and find last April's Golf Digest. We all know the subject of every story related to this year's tournament.

Now you are going to accusing me of copping-out, and that's fine. I know I'm right, and I just don't have time for every single one of your mosquitos with no understanding of golf demanding research every time you don't like the facts, but if the players love this course so much why would all four of them be skipping the same week. Ernie Els would have figured to have a much easier go of it without Woods, Love and Singh do deal with. He can't use a quick $800,000? He can always play next week.

Now, if you need to respond to me do it here:

I can't be involved in two live threads at the same time.

Annika's no Kelly Tilghman, but a fella wouldn't be ashamed to squire her to the local dance out of her working duds. I think she's cute as a button.

Now Olin Browne, on the other hand, is taking the tourney WAYYYY too seriously. He needs to lighten up with the frowny face.

Oddly, prettyidiotic9 hasn't impressed me with his "golf knowledge" one iota throughout the length and breadth of his serial sneering and slandering of Ms. Sorenstam. ;-)

"Know any other Div. 1 conferences where the same player won three years in a row? Didn't think so."

Most Div 1 conferences are more competitive than that. ;>) I'd have to look, but it may well have happened in the SWC in the 70's (Crenshaw-UT), the PAC10 in the 80's (Mickleson-AZ), or perhaps whatever conference UofH played in before SWC. All those conferences / schools are legendary golf venues that have graduated numerous Tour players over the years.

Seriously, tho, you were trying to make a point that there might be men more 'deserving' of an exemption than AS. As 'evidence', you asserted that:

..there is a kid in Westchester right now who has won the Big East Conference individual championship three years in a row ..

According to the Big East Conference site, there have been no recent 3-peaters, presidio. The only golf 3-peater that the site shows is a guy from 20 years ago - is that the kid to which you refer? A (presumably) 42 yo kid who might better spend his life accepting the fact that he ain't gonna be playing in the bigs?

In short, you appear to be decidedly truth-challenged, presidio. Methinks (as do many others here) that you're just making it up as you go.

"Yes." (in response to my q 'sure about that?' when presidio said that Colonial was the oldest course on the Tour)

I know that Colonial is the venue that has held the same Tour event for the longest consecutive period of time, but that's not necessarily the same as 'oldest course on the Tour'.

"Woods never plays here, because the course is gimmicky and not designed for tournament play. "

Is that it? Woods has only played Colonial once, back before he picked up Amex as a sponsor (Mastercard was the Colonial sponsor at that time). As I said before, Colonial isn't your average treeless stadium course, but it's held a Tour event since long before there was a Tour.

"The hardest holes are all on the fron nine. Know any others like that? "

LOL, all the hard holes......? Common misconception held by people, like yourself, who don't know their a$$ from the proverbial hole in the ground about tournament golf, or golf courses in general.

Every course has an 'easier side' - has to, since there's an odd number of holes on each side (do the math). Colonial has 5 of the 9 toughest holes on the front, and 4 of the 9 toughest on the back, based on handicap stats, so yayhoos like yourself think that the back is 'easier'.

Further, Colonial's toughest holes are distributed front / back, front / back all the way down the line - #1 is front, #2 is back, #3 is front, #4 is back, etc. The handicap numbers are based on years of stats, incl the tourney stats. Any one tournament might have stats that change a bit (1 or 2 holes at the most, depending on conditions, esp wind direction), but they hold true over the years.

"As it is, I am once again faced with trying to explain things to someone who is ignorant, but has no wish to change. "

presidio, you're just making this stuff up as you go, isn't it time to stop?

Dang cool that you uncovered that information. I swear I've had an argument or two before with Mr. (multiple) Personality.
