This well-written, informative and true piece of journalism should be run on the pages of the New York Times. Not a chance. Meanwhile, the Times continues to be the publication that someday will bring about the downfall of American journalism, the one thing that has kept us free people.

If you liked that one, you ought to love this:

The Great Black Hope: The Jayson Blair Case and the New York Times

It shows how there was nothing fluky about Jayson Blair, how the Times' publisher, Pinch Sulzberger, organized the paper in a Blair-friendly fashion already in 1992, and shows how, rather than backing down, defenders of the faith (affirmative action) are taking the offensive.
