Wow! I printed that all out to read later! We use a system for memorization that I learned from Jonathan Lindvall (www.boldchristianliving.com). He recommends learning a complete portion at a time, such as a whole psalm or chapter, so that you don't forget "where" in the Bible you learned. He also suggests repeating as much as possible of what you've learned every day, both so that it's refreshed in your memory, and so you can learn from what you've memorized. I admit we've fallen away from this in recent months, so our upcoming move will be a good opportunity to review!
We started out learning Psalm 1. We learn one verse each weekday (or a part, if they're really long verses like Isaiah's), and then every day repeat as much as we know. It takes a long time when you know whole chapters, but I find it teaches so many lessons. Everyone remarks on how clearly my children speak, even the young ones, and that's partly because we repeat the Bible together and practice pacing, emphasis, and pronunciation.
One of my sons was not yet 3 when we learned Psalm 1, and he was so proud when he could repeat the first verse to our priest:
"Blessed is the man who walks not on the counters of the wicked,
Nor stands in the way of dinner,
Nor sits in the seat of golfers."

Sounds like a good system - LOL re: your three year old. What a blessing you are to your children!
