Dennis Miller and Andy Granitelli interviewed by Ann Ryder, clueless but nice local anchor. I am trying to give an accurate transcription, but here is the gist of it.

Lots of talk about how exciting it is to be at the 500. Then Ann asks the big question:

"So, were you at the Clinton party last night?"

Miller: NO. We weren't invited, and if we were invited we wouldn't go!

Granitelli starts laughing as do all the people behind them. Granitelli says that not only would they not attend, they wouldn't even want to be in the same room with him.

Miller then adds that Clinton is lower than a spring-break destination.

Then Granitelli says that President George YH.W. Bush is in town, and how proud he is of his son, and what a great job he is oing.

Then Miller says that they would be HONORED to attend a party with former President Bush.

Ann then decides to end the interview, but before she can Miller says "And at a party with HIM, we could take our wives!"

Did you read Miller and Granatelli's comments at the beginning of this thread? Clinton was thoroughly mocked!!

Thanks for the report about Miller.

I heard his description of his conversion from mostly liberal to mostly conservative. In fact, he seems to be getting more conservative every time I hear him.

His conversion happened as he listened to liberals praise Xlintoon and bash Guliani. Yet Xlintoon was cheating on his wife and have sex in the White House while Guliani was busy cleaning up NY and making it far safer. He asked himself what is wrong with this logic and started critical thinking of his politics.

Some recent Dennis Miller one-liners (some are paraphrased; I typed 'em as I listened to him):

"What if those crop circles are just ads for Target?"

Paraphrased: "Can you believe they're got this group called NABLA? North American Man-Boy Love Association. I say we castrate those sons of a b*tches. Make 'em the North American My Balls Lack Attachment. They won't even have to change their letterhead."

Filmed before the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom, but his feelings about what we should do:
"I say it's time we go to Iraq and start kicking a$$ and taking hyphenated names!"

Re not understanding the attraction for wanting to end this life for the promise of 72 virgins:
"I'd think once you get around 10 virgins in, you're gonna want a pro."

"I didn't like terrorists on 9/10. Now I'm supposed to try to *understand* them?"

Then, re peace movement:
"Wait. We don't hate people who want to kill us? Did I miss a meeting or something?"

Re not drilling for oil in Alaska because of the carabou:
"We only have 50 states, yet we've given our biggest one to a bunch of Bullwinkles!"

Lots of great stuff about how despite what liberals think, it isn't compassionate to do away with expectations (give grades) in school, etc. I just couldn't type fast enough to keep up with him on all of those.

End of this one is paraphrased:
"I like Bush because he's not Bill Clinton. ... It's refreshing. Bush gives me a chance to respect the office of the presidency again."

Some stuff about "now that this country's about to go to war, it's time for Bill and Hillary to just shut the f*** up! ... She just rides on his coattails anyway. He says something one day and four days later, she repeats it" and then something about she has to ride on his coattails because there isn't room for her on the front of his pants....

"They say Bush doesn't care about the environment, but I've seen his ranch. I respect somebody who takes care of his own." (!!! emphasis mine !!!)

"Something wrong with a society where we're supposed to try to understand child molesters, yet we can sue the fast food companies...."

(He did lose me for a minute there with a fat joke about no sympathy for people who have to struggle with new car seat belts. Guy can't be perfect, I guess.)

"Political correctness is inverted McCarthyism."

"I'm not trigger-happy, but I don't think we should be trigger-shy either."

Totally unrelated to Dennis Miller. One of my favorite Leno lines: "Gore's decided to stay out of Iraq: He's seen what those people do to statues."
